Looked online and was a technical director at Newcastle with some more responsibilities (transfers for example) tbh it sounds like he was a DOF but they were very quick to say he wasn’t .
I know more recently he was a technical director at Como (and was responsible for choosing Fàbregas which Tbf has worked out very well).

I want the biggest nerds of all time running the show. Grab someone from Brighton, that Ian Graham bloke, tell em to recreate their scouting algorithms, and start hoovering up 18yo's from Ecuador and Guinea-Bissau.

I read a piece yesterday about Birmingham and their setup. They have Craig Gardner as their Director of Football and some analytics nerd whose worked in football across a bunch of analysis roles as their Head of Recruitment.
Was talking about Gardner and how the American owners absolutely love him because he loves the club so much, cares about everything they do, knows all the agents and is the only person who always answers the phone at 3am when they call.
So what I'm getting at is this... bring back Michael Doyle as DoF.
