you misunderstand, he got to pick a goalkeeper from the players that were offered to him rather than going out and finding the goalkeeper he wanted. He only got to pick from the players that were thrown at him and no I don't think this is something equal to how other league 1 teams build their squads. Nore do I agree with you in the slightest that his budget is larger than the majority of league 1 teams.

Pressley should go for the simple reason he has zero respect from the players and his record particularly over the past 12 months is woeful.

however, SISU are the major cancer at this club and changing manager will see little improvement over the long term. If the next manager is any good, like Robins, he will not hang around. If the next manager is shit, like Pressley, we will simply go further down the leagues.

sorry, but SISU, really have to go. Blaming Pressley alone is simply letting SISU off the hook.

Interesting the CEO at Barnsley cites the 4th biggest budget , 5th largest gates and sixth. Largest equity Investment In the division
The football was becoming unacceptable causing crowds to drop and 17th place was considered inadequate
While I accept there are constraints clearly SISU are using a different strategic measure when measuring the managers performance

Do we have proof otherwise?

At least we have some players in our squad that some people outside of Coventry may have heard of.

Couldn't say that I would really know any players from other teams, (apart from players who used to play for us, or really old boys like Davies who until he scored against us thought he'd retired!) players such as Reda, Nouble, O'brien, Jackson etc, don't come cheap, and doubt if any of our players are in need of topping up with Family Credit.

When we look at wages, who would have been on more.

Simeon Jackson / Frank Nouble or Eoin Doyle (when he was at Chesterfield) / tom Bradshaw (Walsall)

because I don't think the evidence backs up what waggott said about the budget at all and That the things he said came at the same time as him trying to mislead us in regard to how ffp works and how it affects us + the clearly misleading comment about 60% of revenues going straight to Pressley on the pitch. I think he deliberately uses the word budget rather than bill to mislead people into thinking they are one and the same.

Then there is the fact that a couple of years ago we would have had one of the top 6 wage bills, then we were told it was cut by 60% for the next year (which was last year) now as far as I'm concerned it's incredibly obvious that the bill has been cut very significantly from last year. But we are expected to believe that we can cut by 60% and then cut significantly again and yet we are still one of the big spenders? don't believe it for a second.

Then as I just said Pressleys comments about signing a keeper make it very clear as far as I'm concerned how our recruitment is working and that is not how the recruitment works in a club with an above average budget not to mention we are signing the vast majority of players on pitifully short contracts/loans not the actions of a club with a decent budget that are trying to put together a squad for the future.

You make It sound like they're all on Baker Murphy Clarke level wages when last season's was a minimum 200-300K lower , (possibly more as Clark left in January)
than they're quoting this year
Anybody fancy doing some analysis between the two squads?

Realistically they're going to be on decent money.

The club cannot afford to pay individual players Baker level wages, it's a bit of a moot point.

Depends if we believe the daily mail or more realistically he was on around half that @£4k
I'd say Leon would have been on the same with Murphy possibly top earning on five
Its all conjecture
However It was said to be at least the figure I mentioned and Clark's wage was saved after
I have to say I am a little sceptical on this year's as I've heard Fisher was told to fund any racked up expenses on Legoland coupled with the pushing by both him and Waggot of how expensive the loans are, they don't generally offer up Info like that
I did hear the costs wracked up so far are around half a million

That is just it though, we do not know either way about the budget so no-one can say that our budget is more than most other clubs in the league. But wouldn't this seasons have been based on us still playing at Sixfields as that is where we were pre season and started it there?

Also, as we haven't spent any money on players, surely after Clarke, Wilson, Moussa, Murphy, Baker and Christie leaving there would be some wage money left over despite the signings we made in the summer. Would that mean that they wouldn't have to put extra money into the season playing budget as the saved money from the above players?
