Not sure what the seed capital required would be but say it was £10 or 15m is that massive money in the scheme of things?. SISU have been suggesting that any new ground would be financed by developers all but say £5m because the developer will make the money on the retail units etc.... so these things are possible and it isnt so different

The income streams from events etc are now held in IEC , a joint venture between ACL and Compass (77:23 split). A new owner could purchase that 77% from ACL now without owning any interest in ACL.

If they then bought 50% of ACL then they would have an interest in the profits of ACl made from the rents. Any seed money could be done on a loan basis, secured against the development.

The point is there are a lot more options than people think...... it isnt necessarily about coming in and spending £50m up front to buy CCFC and ACL

Because some people think that it's ACL responsibility/obligation to cave in to SISU demands, just because the club would benefit - as if CCFC has some divine right to special treatment

Yes of cause, any owner, whoever they turn out to be, need to own the Stadium, but it appears that ACL are asking to see the "Colour of money"and get an official offer, this seems reasonable to some observers, but others, including a couple of broadcasters on CWR appear to think that the "Stadium"should be gifted to SISSU or thats the impression I get, Stuart Linnell Always seems to lean towards pro SiSSU support, Am I misjudging the man?

Acl will not deal with Sisu

Higgs have been insulted by sisu and the trustees will not deal with Sisu

So currently CCFC under Sisu will never own part of the Ricoh.

The pursuit of a development strategy is relatively long term. It is going to require some cash up front, building and establishment of the new operation (staffing/advertising etc) before that investment starts to return any money.

This is where SISU don't normally go, they cut to the bone & sell on what is left at a profit, usually in & out within 10 years, as far as I can tell they do not develop land or stick around for the medium/long term (unless anyone got any info to contrary do tell?).

Why on earth SISU were allowed to buy the club in the first place is beyond me, the council should have let CCFC go into admin in 2007 & let someone else rebuild from there, there would have been buyers, of course GR/MM etc. would have been more out of pocket, just saying. Damn hindsight.

I think we would need to know more about the income and outgoings of ACL to answer that... are ACL loss-making without the rent from CCFC? (If not then why did the council need to step in to guarantee their debts?) If so then surely the ricoh will continue to be a net loss-maker whoever owns it. This idea that the ricoh (and all future 'development' around it) effectively prints money is laughable

If that really is the case - it is simply childish & suggests they do not have the best interests of the club or fans even on their list of considerations.

If they won't talk with or sell to SISU because they have been insulted by them - I would argue they do not.

yes anyone who owns the club MUST own the stadium and matchday revenue 100% or it is U-N-S-U-S-T-A-I-N-A-B-L-E

somethings gotta give, I dont give a shit which way, as long as the club is sustainable and sucessful opn the pitch!

I took the 'insulted' to be more about SISU trying to put them out of business,not paying them agreed rent and reneging on agreed deals to sort this mess out rather than them being called fat or stinky ;-)

The obvious answer is yes, but is it as essential as Paul Fletcher seems to say, if Coventry City suddenly became a stand alone business independent of anybody of course, but any new investor which is another word for owner will own the ground as part of the deal and would decide where income streams and how much from the Ricoh go, into the club, or the team or their pocket. I wonder how much from the money streams of old Highfield Road went on the team, who owned the club in those days was it Derrick Robins ? His company built all the stands.

IIRC, there was a formula for CCFC to buy back the 50% stake held by the Higgs Charity, but that lapsed ie CCFC didn't take up the option.
CCFC has no RIGHT to buy, just an option, which the seller can refuse, quite legally
