Not sure if Shaw was a sure idea, but what I am sure is Shaw might not be sure, that he's capable of being a sure winning manager surely? I'm sure Shaw is surely not the one we surely want. :thinking about:

Personally having previously said shaw would make a good manager (before thorn was sacked!) I don't think he's currently the man to drag us out of the doldrums, Wise would be the strongest move the board could make in terms of giving this club a lift!!

Shaw will make a very good manager one day but not right now.

Shaw potentially could do a job (3 games in charge isnt enough to say one way or the other) but we are not in a position in my opinion to take such a risk. There is no such thing as manager who will definitely improve our situation but we have to stack the odds in our favour and get someone with as good a track record as our budget will allow. A good manager is probably the single most important part of the whole team and so we should push the boat out as much as possible. Why has no one really mentioned McLeish as an option? No job, still lives local, I think he could do a job for us and certainly kick these lazy shits in to shape.

We need a motivator. The Brum game showed us we have the players. We also were motivated for that game. The other two games tell us everything.

At first i did. I thought he would be the man to take Cov forward. After Sat and last night, i'm not so sure. He needs a very good result at the weekend to have any chance now. Even then i don't think it will be enough. I'm unsure about Dennis the menace. Maybe give Mark Robins a chance?

There was a time (or two) last night when Shaw, Carsley and Oggy were standing together on the touchline all scratching their (own) chins. It looked comical, like "well I cant think what to do, you?", "nope. Oggy?". "Dont bring me into this."

Hes got teams promoted before, and if you hadn't noticed we are in league 1 not the Premier.

Anyway using the Duckworth EricBlack'o'scale System, Shaw has won 2 out of 3 and has a 66% win percentage. He must therefore be our greatest manager ever

I think statistically last night counts as a draw.

Remind me ... how many of our managers the past 5 years were defenders in their playing days?

I think the mentality and 'work experience' the manager is brought up with will reflect on the tactics and style of play he wants from the team. Maybe his own background will influence on decisions like what kind of players he prefer and maybe a previous defender is putting in more efford in finding better quality defenders than other positions?

Maybe it's time for a previous midfielder as manager as the midfield has been the biggest problem for years.

So my vote goes to .... Dennis Wise.

Seriously though, lets have a reality check, we are a piss poor league 1 outfit and this is a manager who has Premier League experience, has got teams promoted and is a real hard ass. Just cos the Villa didn't like him and heaven forbid he got relegated from the Premier with Brum (it would be nice to have that option again) I think he would be a great choice. I doubt he would drop to our level anyway.
