Didn’t think that would end up on impacting your policy ? You sure is wasn’t Mrs Ws dodgy driving ?!!

Car insurance firms are scum bags but also think the amount of car theft and damage to vehicles has led to some of the increases in certain locations. It certainly impacted mine in my area…not surprised to see West Mids police put in special measures…useless.

Almost up to half as bad as 2002/3 and 2003/4 now and that was when we had a growing, buoyant economy not post financial crash. I agree though it appears that car thefts were down a lot more under the coalition than both Labour before it and Tories since

Joking apart, I honestly can’t believe that we had a such a bigger car theft issue back then than now.

Ps I also know austerity wouldve negatively impacted police numbers and you’d think increased crime rates* but looking at the percentage of solved cases, in a country which has the most cameras per person/surveillanced in the world bar China, it’s an embarrassment

*crime rates were actually higher in early/mid 2000s than now but I think probably less gets reported these days as most know the police will do fuck all

Cleverley is an idiot, why go on the record in parliament when there is clear audio of you saying otherwise. Misleading parliament is a resigning offence and calling Stockton a shithole isn't.

What's the actual numbers, it's nothing new to me I've regularly been charged at the top rate for years, I've had one new screen across twenty years because drunkards, penalised for the address, being older now it's doesn't resemble a clean record of at least 30 yrs.

Its mostly a technology thing TBH. Same with phones, there’s been similar falls elsewhere in the world because it’s just harder to steal and sell on than it was 20 years ago.

We really are paying for our empire actions
Our generation and later generations will pay for our greed and lack of humanity when we had the power
Just reading about our actions in Iran just shocking

Except middle class immigrants don’t suppress wages. Fucks sake in most of those roles UK average wages are already well below international market wages.

This “dey tuk ur jerbs” argument only really applies in very low skill works AFAIK. May be misremembering and can’t be arsed to google tho

You're right, and it's a good point, but I still wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of skullduggery behind the rise in immigration rather than just incompetence.

Mr car insurance has gone up this year because Mrs Wisdom is a named driver and was driven into, with the police as witnesses, so entirely on the other driver without contest.

How does that work?!? Especially as we both have protected no claims!

The reason insurance companies give, is that being involved in an accident which isn't your fault, seemingly increases your risk of being involved in a future accident.

I know that sounds completely ridiculous, but that's the justification used.

Shop around is the only advice I can give you mate - there's usually a cheaper price out there somewhere. Can be worth a haggle on the phone too...

More likely people who are hit fall into those who will go to insurance and those who accept off the books. I went off the books and got burnt and now will always go through insurance to save the hassle.

I'm sure another interest rate rise will fix it

Shoppers hit by escalating prices of branded goods

Seems like the real story there is parents not trusting own brand baby formula and branded formula makers absolutely reaming them for it.

Starmer says there are few things more depressing for Tories than hearing Sunak has a plan. It is fitting he turned to Greek matters this week, because he is the man with the reverse Midas touch. Everything he touches turns to – the home secretary will have the correct word, he says.

I'm not sure it is the real story. Who didn't know that long established and heavily marketed brands are often preferred over own brands? Especially for things like baby formula?

Well as the article says, people are switching down for other products but specifically not baby powder. So the price increases elsewhere aren’t as successful. I think people are less rational with this stuff. GF is always talking about people rejecting generic drugs despite them being chemically identical to the branded ones.

Elsewhere people seem to have been sensible enough to not buy branded stuff where they don’t need to and those being gouged are almost certainly those that aren’t price sensitive and can afford it. As the article says profit per unit is up but sales are down so the manufacturers probably aren’t better off, they’re just getting money from those who can afford it.

Unlike baby powder makers.

Hancock unsurprisingly getting torn to shreds at the inquiry.

And equally unsurprisingly he's absolutely full of shit and utterly deluded.

Still trying to paint himself as the hero. The c**t should be in prison.

Would Alistair Darling be delighted to get such fullsome praise off Theresa May and Jeremy Hunt?

Pretty much not the same deal given that rather large change. Your favoured party once again wasting fortunes to try and win an ideological battle.
