Blaming ULEZ is lazy, considering as well that Starmer came out and supported the scheme a few weeks ago, he’s tried to straddle the fence on it.

900 people voted Green, most of those would have probably have voted Labour not so long ago, until they were told their vote wasn’t wanted.

Lazy? The tory who won even admitted ULEZ swung it.

What is lazy is people like you who are so eager to blame starmer they ignore facts

Isn’t it? What seat projection does that kind of swing imply?

Wasn’t ULEZ a Tory policy implemented by Shapps? So on that premise are you saying the Tories won because they put it in place?

It's the expansion to the outer boroughs that is the issue

Still I'm glad you know more back how the tory won than the tory himself

“Sadiq Khan has lost Labour this election,” is what he said in his victory speech

It's the cost and while supporting ULEZ's I get the fear people will have at being made to pay 12.59 a day to drive there card if it is an older model.

There does need to be ore doe to help people

Maybe you’ve just highlighted where Labour might fall short in one sentence.

You are essentially suggesting that Labour’s post-election review should be based on a sentence from a Tory MP victory speech, and not considering in any way why they couldn’t rouse another 500 non-voters to make the journey to the ballot box.

no, I simply am pointing out it's not "lazy" to blame the issue that even the Tory victor says won him the election

There is a point - the point where Labour should have taken the seat by simply offering more people that didn’t vote at all a progressive reason to vote for them.

It's a proxy for the cost of living for which Labour has nothing at all to offer

The original congestion zone definitely was a good introduction where there is a full
Service of buses , trains and underground - road pollution was rife

however LTNs and the extension of ULEZ would very much hit service businesses and generally people on lower incomes who can’t afford to replace their older diesel cars

and as above it has been rushed through

khan is a crook !

No there isn't point, it's fucking sad that you that petty that you are pretending you know more about why someone won an election than the person won won it themselves does.

You really have jumped the shark

It’s sad that you are completely oblivious to any other kind of reason as to how Labour could have done better.

The order that enabled the ULEZ was made by TFL under the Mayor of London at that time Boris Johnson. Tories are ignorant of this and the Labour candidate stupidly sought to blame Khan rather than just state the facts.

Or admit that asking people to pay 12.50 a day is a big ask

This isn't tory framing either, this is the candidate saying he won for reason that had nothing to do with central government

Labour actually only gained 3,000 votes in the North Yorkshire election - Tory voters abstained - it will be interesting in a general election where they vote

The labour 3,000 gain virtually matched the Lib Dem decline in the vote

Surely the ULEZ is a bit of a red herring anyway. Does a constituency MP have the power to stop it’s implementation?
