It’s almost as if freedom of movement promoted a fluid workforce that negated us from the issues of falling birth rates and an ever ageing population.

We don't want freedom of movement, that would be an absolute disaster.
What we want (by we I mean our UK government) is the total opposite.
ie a captive workforce that's tied to these shores by debt, or by some other form of restraint such as banks shutting you out of the system if you choose to leave or your digital passport restricting your movement, thus forcing you to stay and work and pay tax.

In 10 years time the current immigrants being housed by the government (the tax payer) won't be allowed to leave until they've paid back every penny it cost to house them, thus trapping them here indefinitely, making them a captive workforce.

Why do you think we're so crap at stopping immigration? because the reality is we don't want to stop it, but we don't want to admit we are encouraging it. That's modern politics for you.

Trust me, immigration numbers are only going 1 way. As the birth rate falls so immigration will increase. It's got to, and it's planned to.

Immigration is always high regardless of government because it’s free money basically. The idea immigrants cost us is ludicrous. All the data shows that high immigration in pure GDP terms is a net benefit. The problem is social, not economic.

Birth rates is good, but you’ve got to pay the maternity pay, hospital costs, education. Expensive stuff. Immigrants come ready made.

I’d seen he’d taken the morel high ground on Schofield, claimed he had reported him to management when working with him regarding the relationship with the young lad.

An utter clown speaks

Starmer suggests two-child benefit cap row is example of what taking 'tough choices' involves

Starmer says they are having a row about “tough choices” at the moment. That is because they need economic discipline.

He says people agree in abstract that the party has to take tough decisions. But, as soon as you take one, they ask for an exception, he says.

He does not mention directly the two-child benefit cap, but that he is referring to.

He says Liz Truss provided an example of what happens when a government embarks on irresponsible spending. He says he won’t let his government go anywhere near the equivalent of what Truss did.

Carrying on with the folly that is pushing more and more people into poverty is making a tough choice?

The one thing we’ve always been world beating in. Making good music that exports well. It’s just a shame that Boris declined taking up the option of reciprocal FOM for musicians with the EU. One very simple policy Starmer could announce to aid a successful industry.

Thing is he will win certainly Johnson’s seat (never been labour) and possibly the Yorkshire one (it’s been labour before) and so many (including certain people on here) will crowing offering such political gravitas as “no one cares about parties lads”

you'd think something like this would spur those in charge into doing something about how quickly venues are shutting down and the red tape & extra costs Brexit has introduced but there's zero chance of that happening
