are there any stats for how many people have been kicked out of the party by year? There does seem to be a fair number of people on social media claiming they've been kicked out for liking a Green Party tweet 10 years ago and shit like that. Would be interesting to see how the numbers stack up
It’s been happening for years. Happened during the 2016 leadership contest when loads of people got banned from voting because they liked a Caroline Lucas or Mhari Black tweet.

There is something petty about expelling or banning someone because they liked a tweet from a politician that had some shared values.

It would be equally absurd if a Labour member voted for a different party in a seat that is unwinnable if it in theory unseated the incumbent Tory… which is technically also grounds for expulsion.

I think Labour ought to ditch leader Kier Starmer for agreeing with the Tory position on brexit

It's the rules though and both left and right of the party have fallen foul of it, sorry if you wanted the post about a member breaking rules and having to face the consequences that they agreed to, to be a sign off labour purging "socialists" but in it is not.

end of really

Tbf, all he really needs to say is "I'm not a Tory" if that doesn't win him the next election then he'll never win anything.

Sounds like the investigation is going to go deeper than her husband and further into the running of the SNP finances. If something comes of this it could be a godsend to Labour at the GE.

If their party is shown to be as corrupt if not more so than the others, that could potentially tank independence for the foreseeable. Here's hoping

Speaking of the home secretary, I know they need a really right wing nut job so they can try and throw their culture war hail mary but surely they have a slightly smarter candidate than her or patel.

Saw a bit of footage earlier, isn't it supposed to be financial irregularities? Looks more like a murder scene with the area taped off and a big tent set up

Weird that. If he's had his fingers in the till then he deserves what's coming but the figures they were talking about on the radio this evening were miniscule compared to some of the stuff that's gone on at Westminster yet no ones had their door knocked

its all very odd. surely most financial records are digital these days and even if there was a stack of paperwork you'd shred it or burn it wouldn't you. Not bury it in the garden!

This reminds me a lot of the Cliff Richard case where the cameras were invited to film the raid despite the fact that he had no case to answer.

They're all just so fucking bent aren't they?

And his excuse is just abysmal: “I did this before being made aware that the company did not exist and the individuals claiming to represent it were journalists,”
