After they’ve destroyed the NHS they’ll go after the education system next. This is just the pre-amble and people are just meh about it.

TBH with you despite its image to the contrary, America isn't really that keen on free trade if there is a beneficiary that isn't an american corporation. Its focus is always primarily competitive advantage for Murica.

It's what Thatcher's Tories always missed with their commitment to selling everything off. Both USA and Japan built their economic strength on a policy of protectionism really. Free market... but on their terms.

Corbyn seen as barrier for Labour at next election, new poll suggests – Omnisis

Ask a question that implies something is a problem and then get respondents agreeing?

The poll suggests 41% of Labour voters think the party has treated him fairly.

The age breakdown of the people who think Corbyn is a barrier is yet another example of the completely brainwashed boomers - i'm surprised a man of the world like you agrees with those sorts of people.

You really don't get it do you.

I can't be fucked arguing about this again.

But I said something the other day about how people perceive Corbyn and how he affects the perception of Labour. You all disagreed and jumped on me.

Days later a poll comes out proving exactly what I said.

The end.

they were nonsense, all that happened is the local party replaced tarry with the person they actually wanted originally

So the local party gets its say to replace Tarry but the Islington North one doesn’t get to choose Corbyn?

Be interesting to do a poll side by side with an open question as to what voters perceive to be Labour's barrier to winning the next election. I doubt many people would answer the name of somebody who is not the leader and hasn't been for 3 years nor has any influence.

It's not the barrier. It's a barrier.

Why not remove as many barriers as possible.

If the question was asked to Mr 29% Milliband he would score positively on such a poll yet was a joke figure at the election

It really isn't though is it. How can a figure who polled a higher percentage at an election that Blair have that response unless its a leading question. It suits a narrative for simpletons like you to feed off.

He did also oversee the complete destruction in 2019. Regardless, without Starmer he would be a total irrelevance now. Now there is a risk he beats Labour next year…

Are you aware of a leading poll question to create a response? Lol this is hilarious

A forgotten figure in the party and the electorate in general is suddenly a barrier to Starmer being elected - ok

The Corbyn barrier thing gets worse with age, 75% of the over 75s said "Yes". This age group are highly unlikely to switch from Tory to Labour so what the fuck is the point in courting them or representing their views as particularly relevant to the next election

What Starmer hasn’t fathomed is that Corbyn is not a barrier at all at the other end of the age scale, in fact he was responsible for engaging masses of them with politics. They are the future and he’s not interested in appealing to them.

I'd say a government that isn't disgustingly corrupt or intent on demonising the very worst off in society is quite a lot to get excited about.

Even if their policies aren't quite as we'd wish.

There's probably some stat knowledgeable team who are also looking at the voting age profile, and deciding that young people are engaged on social media, but don't actually turn up to their polling station.

I threatened my kids (now 38 and 32) with expulsion from the family inheritance if the didn't vote. They can vote for who they like, but they must vote.

They both moaned, at age 18 respectively, that they couldn't be bothered and most of their mates didn't vote anyway.

Compulsory voting and PR is the way to go.

This is a reasonable overview: Secure our economy. Protect our NHS. Rebuild our country.

Most of the things I’d change aren’t in there but have been said, drug reform, NHS reform, I have some serious questions.

The Opposition leader has spent more of his recent time attacking the former leader of his own party, than the government of the day.

It isn't exciting for said government to be going, it's years and years overdue.

And if they're going to govern with very gradual incrementalism, it will be way too little, way too late for people who need more.
