Maybe she will do a U-turn on this too.

Chancellor gone, Home Secretary gone, both in the crazy camp, but they are still major positions. Grant 'weasel' Shapps taking over probably shows how on the last legs Truss's premiership is.

You could never tell from previous public engagements Truss has had that it was ever going to be as bad as this.

Just hoping it is a memorable collapse as any English cricket team does.

Labour need to get a real leader. It’s pointless saying Labour can’t do worse. We know that, but surely there

What’s the rationale for not tabling one? I assume there must be some strategy behind it…

Well certainly yesterday because the government tabled one themselves, maybe.

Let's hope he implements if. He's hardly going to stand in front of the TUC and say anything different.
If hedoes then great, fair play to him.

Yeah I don’t really get the frustration at Labour not calling a VONC every week - strikes me as the political equivalent of demanding that Robins brings on Tavares every 10 minutes in the match thread.

Im not quite sure why they haven’t yet, unless they’re letting the government fuck things up even more royally first ?

My problem last time was they waited so long the Tories could just be “yeah I know we’re already getting a new one”, would be nice to make them all explicitly vote in favour of the current administration before they have that get out.

Things Starmer says you agree with: likely just positioning for the crowd. Not happening.

Things Starmer says you disagree with: definitely happening and even if just playing politics he shouldn’t.

Exactly - get people like that Walker bloke from yesterday to show the real colour of his money. Though then again, in his case he's already said he's standing down at the next GE, perhaps he's not a great barometer

Rumours are they’re going to offer her a timetable to leave so they can get the latest budget in at the end of the month and avoid further turmoil. If you were being sceptical you’d say they’re doing it so they can pin that budget also on Truss too. Either way it looks like it’s done, she’s gone.

Still need to sort their shit out as well in terms of new leader. I was saying to my brother if they’ve got any sense (and in a last ditch attempt to save themselves from oblivion at next election), they should pull a unity team together of the top 4-5 from last leadership election* and put them in the key government roles, probably with Sunak as PM, and agree and sign up to key policies they will focus on pre election

Thats what a grown up party would do….so obviously they won’t and this shitshow will continue until a GE
