Well, she was a foreign secretary who had no idea where the Black Sea was. I certainly don't think she's intelligent. I don't think she's capable of proper critical thinking and will just regurgitate whatever she's told.to say, which is pretty much what Boris wanted.

She's only in it for the prestige and the photo ops so she can do her Maggie cosplay.

Doesn't make her intelligent though does it?

Go on then, reveal her incredible intelligence to me (and don't forget you were pretty disparaging about her just a week or so ago)

I always remember working for this boss who had degrees coming out of his eyeballs. He was highly intelligent. But a complete idiot.

Like pretty much everyone who’s sat on the Tory front bench since 2019 she’s been educated beyond her intelligence.

I think we’ve all worked with people like that over the years. I used to work for a company years ago that were obsessed with their graduates program and fast tracking them into managerial roles. Don’t get me wrong, some good capable people came through it but that was down to weight of numbers more than anything else. We had one I’ll always remember you had to coach daily on the stuff that you had to do daily still after a year. Then they promoted him. He got the title, the company car, the company credit card etc but he was a disaster.

When I did my masters they has this image of knowledge as a circle and how basically after secondary school you stop expanding in all directions and pick one narrower and narrower one to push out in.

A bit like this:

A PhD student/professor is very well educated in their small part of their discipline, it says nothing about the rest of the knowledge pie.

In US news, it seems being anti abortion is not a great voter pull even in deep republican states:

Kansas votes to protect abortion rights in state constitution

Kansas is the first state to put abortion rights to a vote since the supreme court overturned Roe v Wade

I'm not angry and you are not "debating", you are comparing apples to pears and wilfully trying to mislead.

I have at no stage back the findings of any poll. I have simple said it was nonsense for you to compare the findings of 2 different polls released within a couple of days of each other and then pretend that shows a massive decline in poll lead for Labour.

So I can ask you this "Why do you lie and be disingenuous when asked to sensibly debate"?

After all you are arguing against something I have not said or claimed.

Why do you lie by telling the world how you put people on ignore when clearly you don't?

It does seem both of them are pandering to the nutcases at the moment. I'm sure Grendel will be on here soon enough to castigate the policy seeing as it's pretty much as close to the way Communists tend to rule.

Seems like he thinks the markets and rich people should be given the freedom to do whatever they please whatever they like, whereas ordinary folk shouldn't even have the freedom to think. He surely can't be stupid enough to think this is actually a good idea?

Almost like neither of them want to win (though state of the Tory party at the moment who could blame them? Who'd want to be in charge of that bunch of mentalists?)

It's nuts isn't it.

I do hope it's just a case of talking tough to appeal to Tory members and nothing more.

I think the Prevent programme is picking up more far right extremism than islamic extremism and the former is a bit too close to home for the Tories.

I think those laws mean the freedom to post far right nonsense but not to criticise the government despite what he claims.

Basically you have freedom of speech to praise the government, but even slight criticism of them sees you cancelled/sacked/funding cut and now apparently in need of deradicalisation.

We must all praise Dear Leader.

On the plus side - Sunak has fuck all chance of winning so it will never happen.
Meanwhile we’ll have Liz who will barely remember a policy announcement from the previous day so I’m sure that won’t be an issue…..

I think you could convince Liz Truss to fully nationalise the entire economy if you dressed it up with the appropriate populist buzzwords

Dress it up as taking back control and getting rid of foreign influence and control over British business and the rewards going to hardworking British people.
