And this isn't about left or right. It's about integrity and honesty and truthfulness and trust.

Johnson has failed on all those. His position is untenable.

He has lied and lied and then lied again.

It's a disgrace.

I am infuriated with Boris Johnson for sure. Doesn't mean I can't find humour in the ridiculousness of the day's events at the same time.

No point scoring. The PM has brought the office into disrepute and is behaving like a spoilt child.

All this shit show you're revelling in and Labour still won't win enough seats to form a majority government at the next election whether that be now or any time in the next two years. I think secretly, like many others, it's the preferred stance to moan about what we have rather than offering any credible alternative.

Such is the cost of fuel that demand for taxis has outweighed supply. That and nobody was willing to share with Gove

I listened to LBC most of yesterday and the amount of angry people phoning in not understanding this same point. I bet most cheered with delight when Boris was the ringleader in ousting May too. Who actually if you’re going to use Boris’ yardstick to justify him staying had pretty much the same mandate from the British people in 2017 as Boris did in 2019.

We always knew there was a level of arrogance and entitlement but if he hangs around much longer it’s coming across more nutjob

He was never going to quit though, that's why in normal times everybody did their best to keep him away from responsible jobs!

He’s got a point though hasn’t he? Why is this last one any less problematic than the last.

If he was going to learn his lesson he wouldn’t have 26 children from 17 different partners

You say that but at this level of resignations I would’ve expected him to resign. He can barely form a team

Nah, it's always been about him. He's renowned for not taking criticism, for reacting badly to it, and for believing he's right and has some kind of entitlement to it that others less indulged than him don't have.

He had the right too, as at that stage no coalition had been agreed, and it was still possible that he could have formed one with the Lib Dems.

Andrew Neil just said that Boris isn't even really in the Conservative party , he's the Boris Johnson party. It's all about him.

He is so Trump like in many ways

In the olden days, when the Liberals had a shot of power, he'd have been in their party. His policies aren't even really Tory-like in many ways... although he's allowed himself to be hijacked by the right of his party in social policy to sate his craving for power. It's a game to him really, you could see he kind of enjoyed PMQs yesterday!

Same as the republicans they allowed this man to do what he did and turned a blind eye to the actions that should have disqualified him and trump. Was talking on Facebook with some Christians in the states, completely different faith to the one I have but they ignored everything about trump cos he likes guns and wanted to ban abortion, Hilary was the devil incarnate

It’s because Cummings learned a lot from Bannon’s tactics. Don’t play by the rules, put yourself (or your candidate) first and burn down the rule book if it gets in your way.

They used the tactic to prorogue parliament.

Now DC has gone Johnson has just taken it to heart and gone to extreme though, that is like Trump post Bannon.

tbh, it's probably in their interests to let Johnson continue to implode. Even better if he does go for some harebrained scheme of splitting the party and going to the country himself.

As someone said last night, the biggest weapon in Labour's armoury is Boris Johnson.

For a little while yes, but it’d be foolish to not even consider it when the government is in such a mess and while Johnson is still at the helm.
