It's going to happen. Problem is, what's the alternative?

I think he may have to be forced out. He's gone almost full on Trumpian it seems.

I am infuriated with Boris Johnson for sure. Doesn't mean I can't find humour in the ridiculousness of the day's events at the same time.

No point scoring. The PM has brought the office into disrepute and is behaving like a spoilt child.

Yeah exactly.

As if any of us on an Internet forum posting something 'of substance' will have any impact or bearing on what's happening.

'Johnson might change his behaviour if only the posters of SBT posted more seriously! '

Might as well enjoy the shit show.

Get Starmer to call a no confidence vote in the Commons and see if the MPs who have resigned en masse have the balls to stick to their guns

All this shit show you're revelling in and Labour still won't win enough seats to form a majority government at the next election whether that be now or any time in the next two years. I think secretly, like many others, it's the preferred stance to moan about what we have rather than offering any credible alternative.

Government in crisis, advantage in the polls despite being a wet lettuce-for once take control of the narrative

This bullshit really highlights how desperately in need this country is of reform through the whole political system.

Johnson could lose a vonc in the house or the party but if his response is “I don’t care, I’m staying” then we’re bang into a constitutional crisis (again).

If Starmer had any more core principles than insuring the left never have influence in the Labour Party then he’d put together policies around PR, an elected second chamber and a written constitution now to make sure none of this idiocy can happen again.

The man he idolises was fundamentally opposed to any type of totalitarianism yet here he is trying to rid himself of parliament.

Honestly couldn’t make it up.

I don’t think British politics ever accounted for the ‘what if the PM just refuses to resign in any circumstance’. Then it really would come down to the Queen to end the farce.

Can he quickly create the Boris party and call an election that splits the Tory vote please?

Also Starmer needs to resign because of a curry and someone decent fights the election for Labour.

A man can dream.

And that is an absurd situation for a modern western democracy to be in. A fucking monarch having to sort it out.

I’ve been banging the drum for a written constitution for a while but surely this makes the case for me.

We are infuriated. We have been for quite some time. Yet despite that there are still people like yourself that will just excuse anything they do. When alternatives are suggested they're just dismissed out of hand, often just because of the party/person suggesting it because they're lefties and therefore despise the country and would send it down the toilet.

So in that scenario we've got the choice of becoming totally despondent or to take on a sense of gallows humour as the country around us descends into the shit we inevitably knew it would.
