Yeah also wouldn't the Cab Sec just advise the queen to appoint someone who can command a majority to form a government?

She is the boss after all

maybe the idea is its argued there's no clear alternative so a general election is called, or maybe they just think he's completely lost it and will do anything he can to prolong his time as PM.

Could he, at least in theory, leave the Conservatives, end this term of parliament for the summer recess and sit it out until the autumn? Is that possible within the current framework?

Surely the opposition parties and the majority of the Tories would go for a motion of no confidence which would force the government to resign?

no idea, is there a difference between what is expected behaviour and what the rules can actually force? If he seriously refuses to go how difficult can he make it?

All this shit show you're revelling in and Labour still won't win enough seats to form a majority government at the next election whether that be now or any time in the next two years. I think secretly, like many others, it's the preferred stance to moan about what we have rather than offering any credible alternative.

Truth is you should be genuinely infuriated by events but prefer cheap petty point scoring creating and reposting poor attempts at humour rather than anything of substance.

Boris doesn’t even have enough backers in his own party to form a majority government. You’re in desperate need of a reality check of what’s actually happening.

Well no what I want is Starmer to have the balls to push for an election at a time when the current government is an embarrassment to the country.

Not quite sure how that answers what I said, but even if tomorrow is his last day as pm, it will still be 1 day more than Starmer will ever have as pm.

I passed the point of infuriation about 2 general elections ago. All I have left is point and laugh. Which ironically is more than Boris has left.

I am infuriated with Boris Johnson for sure. Doesn't mean I can't find humour in the ridiculousness of the day's events at the same time.

No point scoring. The PM has brought the office into disrepute and is behaving like a spoilt child.

Yeah Starmer genuinely despises him (as does anyone with any morals or dignity), you can tell.
