They’ve already solved it. The poor are too thick to cook properly and any help they give them will be wasted on big screen TV’s and crack so it’s all their own fault.

Nope, it's based on the fact that the person who makes the rules can't be trusted to keep to the rules.

These photos are they timestamped and have the police already seen them and dealt with this particular party? I ask as we've had many leaving dos over the years where the gaffer makes a brief appearance, gives a quick speech, a quick chat and buggers off. Maybe the old bill felt its a misdemeanour and don't warrant a FPN?

these parties you had, were they during a time of lockdown? all gatherings were banned so just attending is against the regulations.

Many people worked through lockdown, I did.

If a nurse was retiring and a senior colleague toasted them at the end of their final shift, would you hold the same opinion?

I also worked through lockdown and it was business as normal - no choice and all our customers did as well.

I once ordered some Pizza for everyone - I think the West Midlands Police should investigate

Were many nurses holding weekly pissups in the hospital at the end of their shifts then?

You should tell the Daily Mail. It'll be front page news, and rightly so, that's disgraceful behaviour from them.

They weren’t even allowed to have lunch together and had to sit alone in the lunch room and it is a sackable offence to drink alcohol at my wife’s hospital so fairly unlikely to have happened.

So where were you working that was business as usually during first lockdown? Only essential services were legally permitted to be open at the time.

Well put it this way - not one business in the Industrial estate where I work was locked down - essential services includes manufacturing and goods supply obviously. Most manufacturing companies stayed open as they had to.

Im not sure that's strictly true. I worked through first lockdown aside from a brief period of furlough.

Loads of companies worked through the pandemic - Amazon is hardly an essential service either but I doubt they shut the doors!

People at the gathering got a FPN, others didn’t. The Met needs to explain that.

If Amazon hadn’t stopped open who would have sold all the toilet roll to Germany to make sure the shortage really bit.

you are confusing the term essential workers with essential services - most manufacturers carried on

We were allowed to stop open as we are a large shipper in the medical supplies market but I would be honest we didn’t want to be in and seeing the amount of tv and unimportant stuff that went through pissed us off, but we got a £150 bonus and a lanyard (which interestingly the people who were furloughed also got), it was pretty positive for the company though as profits went up to $3 billion a quarter roughly.

I think it is time with the cost of living crisis in Coventry for the council to remove the civic role of Mayor and pass the savings on to the people of Coventry.

Any saving is a worthwhile saving but I would imagine it runs into the hundreds of thousands
