I think it’s shitty and poor politics. Public opinion is quite pro appropriate immigration right now.

Tories desperate to go after Starmer over the beer in his office.

Of course for Johnson it was only a few minutes and ‘only a cake’ and DON’T THEY KNOW THERE’S A WAR ON!!!! Yet there’s a case to answer over a beer and that Starmer should resign in disgrace.

No problem with that really. If they continue to decide there's nothing wrong, Johnson looks like more of a c**t. If they decide something is wrong, I'm pretty sure Starmer would actually quit rather than bluster it out like a two-faced self-centred egotistical power-crazed workshy buffoon.

Yeah but someone sent a letter to Durham police and they've said they will reply to the letter. The Tories have taken this as 'POLICE RE-OPEN INVESTIGATION INTO STARMER!!!!'.

Which is not the case.

Why wasn't this opposed? Where's the logic? What's in it to not oppose it?

It’s absolute desperation isn’t it. Starmer was never going to try and go after Johnson for this if he knew he’d done the same himself.

In a way I wish it did have legs. Surely even the bumbling oaf would have to go if the Leader of the Opposition quit?

Yes exactly. Given his background I'm sure he's fully aware of the legalities of both situations.

Doubt it!

"Alas, the Leader of the Opposition has taken the coward's way out and resigned, but I'm going to carry on with the job, build back better, and defeat Putin single handedly"

I think the real reason this ‘story’ has surfaced now is in the hope that some people out there will believe it to be true irrespective of actual facts and as a result will think he is untrustworthy.
The Tory mantra of say the same lie repeatedly and it starts to become truth…

Learned from Trump. We really need to have a look about what checks should be put in place really, as currently they're not working now they're being abused.

I agree that certain drugs should be legalised.

I don’t want any country to have nukes.

I do like Ed Davey’s yoga videos.

I’ll vote Lib Dem.

Cannabis definitely needs legalising. Control what actually gets grown in terms of chemical composition and strength, license growers and sellers and collect tax on sales and companies profits. Think of it as the new deal that legalised alcohol production and sales in the US as part of the measures to end the Great Depression.

There is a discussion on the nuclear deterrent because A) we on our own have enough warheads to end meaningful life on the planet B) the only person a nuclear deterrent seems to be working for at the moment is Putin meaning we’re scared of defending Ukraine with boots on the ground, aircraft in the air and ships in the sea. I think we should look at halving our nuclear arsenal and investing that saving in other areas of the armed forces.

Such a weird ad strategy. Places that are LD threats are hardly going to worry about this stuff. I do wish one wing of the party could do social properly.

I'd assume somewhere it's actually meant to head off a Tory offensive, as they're traditionally Tory strengths v Labour wokeness and desire to disarm.

Doesn't work, though, just makes them look a bit bonkers!

I can’t see many Tory voters where the Lib Dems are too radical so they vote Labour. More likely to suck it up or stay home I reckon.

The point being its a backwards strong on crime and the national defence message, head off and deflect the accusations they aren't.

Johnson to admit he was at No 10 ‘Abba’ party — but only to conduct job interview

The Winner Takes It All is said to have boomed through the building at the lockdown-busting event
www.independent.co.uk

If his excuse is true, it doesn't reflect well on the fucking professionalism of government, does it!

The thing I’m most amazed about is that you brought it up. Given that Labour have actually took action against their bully whereas the Tories bully is still the Home Secretary. Own goal grendull.

I am going to as a tie break for the Christmas quiz this year ask the percentage of posts The Tonester makes on a football forum about ccfc - then again as it’s a big fat zero I guess there is little point

Don't you think she would be in the ideal place to discuss if bullying of employees is a problem within West Midlands Labour?
