Is that automatic by-election or would it have to take a trigger ballot first?

Think it said on the news if he gets longer than 12 months inside automatic by election which in Wakefield probably be won by Labour again now, after all the Tory shenanigans over the last few months!!

Must be the least popular leader ever if he genuinely didn’t know that there were parties.

Partygate: Met Police issue 30 more Downing Street lockdown fines

Police say they have sent out more than 50 fines so far for Covid law-breaking in government buildings.
www.bbc.co.uk

Didn’t even get invited to the ones in his own house. Proper Billy no mates.

Then there’s this

UK acted unlawfully in appointing Dido Harding to key Covid role, judges rule

High Court finds government broke equality laws during coronavirus response
www.ft.com

They can’t even try and justify it by saying that they did a good job. No doubt they’ll give that a good go though.

Johnson & Sunak both to be fined over breaking lockdown laws.
Surely makes their positions untenable?

BBC News - Johnson and Sunak to be fined over lockdown parties

Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak reject calls to resign over lockdown fines

The PM and chancellor apologise for attending a party in lockdown, but pledge to stay in post.

In any normal government it would be instant resignation.

However this is not a normal government. It'll be brushed under the carpet.

Remember the outrage when Diane Abbott had a drink on the tube? Now we have a serving Prime Minister breaking the law and nothing will happen which I think sums up the decline of this country pretty well.

Oh and constantly lying to the house. So that's two things that should be instant resignation.

They is surely no way they can defend the indefensible.

Both should resign, but they are both pieces of shit that have no regard for the people they serve, so I can imagine the self serving pricks wont have an ounce of honour between them.

I think this is a bigger issue than the fine itself. Didn’t Johnson say in the House that rules hadn’t been broken ? Now, you can potentially wriggle out of that if (you claim) stuff went on without your knowledge…gets a bit trickier if you’ve been fined for breaking those rules yourself !

If this is just a standard fine alone I don’t personally think it’s a resignation/sacking issue. They’ll continue to argue that they believe it was a work gathering…it’s only route left for them

I don’t think a thing will happen personally. There will be a lot of noise but in 24/48 hours there will be some other stories to deflect.

That’s where we have ended up.

Particularly convenient & extraordinary timing that it emerges whilst parliament is in recess so they don't have to answer questions on it.
