Funny isn't it. These ultra-right Brexit loons, who wrap themselves in the flag and accuse anyone to the left of Attila the Hun of hating the country, have actually been doing Russia's dirty work for them all along...

I wonder what Farage will have to say if we offer sanctuary to millions of Ukrainians?

He’s already blaming the EU and NATO so he will just resort to type. The veil is slipping though so hopefully people who haven’t already seen through him will realise what a traitor he is.

With the talk of Russian oil/gas and increasing our energy independence, I bet Sturgeon sees long term gains from the situation. If we want more homegrown energy, a lot lies in Scottish waters so she'd have a strong bargaining chip. Of course, if she wanted independence for Scotland then that oil and gas would then become imported for the U.K. so could be an impasse.

Not a great time to try and introduce bills that would ban the type of protests we've seen against Russia's actions or prevent Ukrainians coming to the country to flee war.

To think all the time I thought it was the unelected Lords that should be abolished and recently they're the only sane voices in the corridors of power.

the by-election on thursday looks like it could have a comedy low turnout

Labour will still easily hold and maybe increase the majority %

If turnout is low absolute majority will be down for sure, % would be interesting though.

But what inflation?!

MPs to get £2,200 pay rise from April for 'dramatically increased' duties last year

IPSA, who sets MPs' pay independently of parliament, said the pay rise is the same as the average increase in pay for public sector employees last year.

That report's not quite true either. The pay rise for public sector is 1.7% for band one, 2.7% for band two... which I think makes an average less than 2.7%

Everything is well below inflation. Inflation is at a 30 year high. That really isn’t the defence you think it is.

Aren't you in favour of low pay rises because they drive inflation? I seem to remember you were heavily against a pay rise of less than 2% for a particular group recently, using that as your justification. Or is that just for the hoi polloi on low wages?

I'm reminded of a programme like Wife Swap, but mildly amusing. Who would we meet up? I reckon Grendel should buy PVA a Scotch Egg...

Firstly I don't like Scotch eggs.

Secondly I've never worked a day on a farm in my life.

Thirdly it's not surprising you think of people as beneath you based purely on their background or occupation.

You’ve never had a good one. Served warm in a restaurant it’s a completely different dish to getting a pack from the fridge aisle in Tesco.

Well, it's a start. Once you start to question everyone's ethics. especially those of the people you laud, we might actually start getting somewhere.
