For sure. My point is that when it comes to the oligarchs we’ve possibly held everything back. Just heard it suggested again that these 3 aren’t even on the list of 50.Hence I said needs to go further.

On foreign policy he’s a bit of an unknown and the 2020 field was poor in general. Doesn’t mean I have to rate Biden who let’s be honest only and barely won because of COVID and is clearly past his prime
His op-ed on the matter earlier this month made his position clear, and it was completely bizarre IMO. Not sure I'd want someone who spends so much time apologizing for the Russian POV being in charge of the West's response.
Biden is no foreign policy genius (see, uh, Afghanistan) but he does at least have experience and global credibility when it comes to foreign affairs. That's allowed this early response to the invasion to be a united one. For all the complaints you made about the current crop of leaders, the alternate universe of a Trump-Corbyn-Le Pen response to these events doesn't bear thinking about.
I think what we’re generally getting at here is that the quality of politicians has been low for a while now. It’s what has emboldened the likes of Putin who also has his fingers in Moldova and especially Georgia but hasn’t as far as I can tell been sanctioned for it.
I can only imagine what Trump's response would have been to all this!

So, the only way for Putin to back down is for Ukraine to completely demilitarise, thus leaving it totally open to Russia task forces (sorry, 'rebels') or invasion by the troops he's already sent into their country.
