So they are going to use that one then, do they not mean that when it got a bit tough he hid in hospital and if he was ill did he not catch it from being a buffoon and shaking covid patients hands. I spoke to a former itu nurse who is very suspicious of the whole situation and then miracle recovery.

Don’t be such a headcase, no Prime Minister is going to fake going into the ICU. This isn’t 24.

Everything this prime minister has said is truthful never once has he been caught lying or using situations to his own benefit. He might have gone to icu but there is nothing to say how ill he really was.

I do think he was obviously very ill, but I think it's a measure of the man that he nearly died from it and THEN went on to not take it seriously and led tens of thousands of people to their deaths through gross incompetence and negligence.

Also the line his fervent supporters like to use, and now apparently an official party line, of 'he nearly died you know, cut him some slack!' really annoys me. He nearly died through his own stupidity and arrogance, and boasted about it. That's not a badge of honour ffs.

Maybe so. That's no reason to question whether he was actually ill or not, however.

He was definitely ill but I think it's quite telling that the nurse who cared for him quit last summer over the lack of respect & funding for the NHS. Be interested to hear what she thinks of all these parties etc. since too.

COVID-19: Nurse Jenny McGee, who cared for Boris Johnson in intensive care, resigns from NHS

Jenny McGee says NHS staff are "not getting the respect and now pay that we deserve" and "I'm just sick of it".

I’ll be honest. I don’t believe he was as ill as was made out and I don’t believe that he was the illest person in ICU or even the illest person on any Covid ward in that hospital. He was in ICU because of who he was not because of ill he was.

Either way and whatever you believe he learned the sum total of fuck all from that experience and that’s the most important thing to take from it.

Did he actually go into icu, i seem to recall that he was moved closer to it but don't remember it being stated that he was admitted to it.
Edit, just checked and he did

Others at the time questioned whether it was strictly necessary for him to go to the ICU (I think it's obvious why the Prime Minister would get treated with an abundance of caution), but to suggest he was somehow faking it is just sad.

Was he ill probably was he that ill probably not, did he get better treatment than others almost certainly. It all seems handy it was a bit shit at the time he almost disappears. Look today gone to Kiev nice and out the way he won’t make any difference being there Putin will be laughing at him and his weak threats, also why are we leading the push back against Russia let somebody else do it, is this more world leading stuff from the buffoon.

Are there any other jobs where you can get absolutely plastered at work, then go on live TV and debase yourself (while still in a work capacity), and keep your job? It’s astonishing really.

Not sure the ‘he nearly died cut him some slack’ works as you say. It looks like Johnson just never really believed in lockdowns/severe restrictions, which is obviously his right, however, you can’t then force them on the rest of the country…this is totally unacceptable. Hancock was even worse, he was always 100% behind lockdowns and severe restrictions etc yet was still fucking someone else’s missus behind his wife’s back. The smarmy shit

A simple solution at parliament is close the bar it’s a place of work not a social club, I’m not sure if it is still heavily subsidised but if it is it’s no surprise they all get tanked up.

Anecdote - Indeed the Palace of Westminster has very reasonable dining facilities. I was visiting the House of Commons in August 2019. We went in a cafe inside the building frequented by staff and visitors. Lots of good food at normal cafe prices.
Keir Starmer came in, queued with his tray, tucked into a "pie and chips and a cuppa" sort of lunch, sat with a colleague. Stayed only long enough to eat it. Kept his head down. No nonsense.
He was clearly at work and parliament was in recess.

Anecdote - i attended an event with a pretty well known labour MP who laughed about having to wear masks so we took them off shook hands with everyone and said if you want to socially distance fine if not don’t as I won’t be doing so

So Johnson won’t retract his lies against Starmer from yesterday, let’s see if he will say it outside of parliament without his privilege.

No it was an event - it was a perfectly legal gathering. The MP as well I like. He did have a similar attitude to the rules

In the height of lockdown 1 I broke said rules pretty much every day
