I agree, but the point is not the truth but what the general public perceive.

Do you think the average person knows of his financial ideology and would reinstate austerity arguably harder than ever before? Or do they think he's a spender cos of furlough and EOTHO.

Do you think most people think about his living arrangements and what he can and can't see from his window?

Do you think they'd care about his priviliged upbringing giving him a nice job in the City before marrying into massive wealth, or just they'll see he's been successful and so therefore must know a thing or two about running the economy?

At least he'd actually put in the effort, unlike the current incumbent, but sadly if you're working from the wrong plan you can put in as much effort as you like - you're still going to end up in the shit.

For me second chamber should be PR based on %votes for each party in the GE. Each party gets to choose which people represent them in the chamber. Like you say, not ideal but better than a house where each change of government just leads to an ever more bloated house as they give peerages to more people to give them control.

I like the PR ideal for HoL, however, I’d want to cut the numbers.

PR for one chamber, FPTP for the other seems the best solution really, debate which way round it goes. Allows checks and balances, but keeps the direct representation a local MP supplies.

I agree about the numbers. Think there's over 1000 lords now.

Should be no more than the number of MP's in the Commons. Ideally less, but enough to accurately represent the result. Say 250-500

If they're both elected, it kind of negates the upper/lower house argument. They should sit side by side.

FPTP is around constituents, so should probably focus on those issues while the PR house focuses on putting together national legislation etc. Then the FPTP house has to ratify it.

Well for a start, he's far less likely to cut corporation tax under some nonsense belief that it leads to job creation, resulting in a cut to services they use and/or an increase in their personal tax/NI/VAT to cover it.

Will it lower their mortgage costs, allow people to buy a better TV allow people to go on bigger and better holidays and improve the car they drive? Oddly most people couldn’t care less about corporation tax and oh name on labour government that’s created more jobs leaving office than when they took office.

Did you not spot the massive NI hike? It's a personal income tax that hides behind the facade of being a hypothecated tax for the NHS/Care Services but in reality just gets lumped into the pot.

As for lower mortgage costs, did you also not notice the interest rate rise before Christmas? As for buying bigger TV's/holidays price inflation running quite a bit above wage inflation is far from ideal isn't it?

If you believe there will be 10K jobs you'll believe anything. They can't get anyone interested in operating the gigafactory and the council refused requests to make the granting of planning permission conditional on someone being found to operate it.

And as ever with this scandal, he does it as reports come out that Johnson was warned it was a social event and not to go ahead with it, but ignored the warnings.

Makes you angry reading some of those. They're surprised that Johnson has done exactly the same things he's been doing his whole life. If some of those people genuinely thought the things they did about him at election time then it shows just how little attention and research people put into casting a vote. I bet they put more thought into who they vote for on Strictly.
