It's just a totally made up number Rob.

Someone or some website has made it up and others have copied. There are no 'reports' as you say on her net worth because no such thing exists.

Its like those salary websites that claim Tavares was on a higher wage than Wright or some shit

We know the rough value of her housing assets, so I'd love to know where the supposed other £4m comes from.

No I don't have an issue with them having money either, it's the misrepresentation of Rayner that is unfair and then using her modest (compared to her peers) wealth as a stick to beat her with.

She has admitted the amount was incorrect. It’s not normal for HMRC to accept mitigating circumstances where tax is involved.

Exactly. There’s a pattern of behaviour here where Rayner uses aggressive tax planning to avoid certain taxes like CTG and stamp duty. Which would be fine if she wasn’t advocating these taxes to be increased on other people. She had the brass neck to demand the resignation of several Tory ministers for minor offences and specifically called for Zahawi to resign when he had a tax penalty as chancellor.

Here, Rayner is housing minister and got caught out playing the rules to reduce council tax and stamp duty liabilities. At least a corrupt, tax evading Tory wants to theoretically (unfortunately not in practice though) reduce your taxes too. Rayner wants to tax everyone more but Angela Rayner.

It’s not too dissimilar from the kind of ‘pro-family’ conservative politician caught up in an illicit affair…

It’s inevitable that she’ll resign, which is a shame as she’s probably one of the better MPs overall. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been leaked by a Starmer loyalist either.

Seems she "sold" 25% of the Ashton property to her son's trust fund after he received a sizeable payout from the hospital following his birth complications.

The irony is that if she hadn’t brushed aside her union buddies on her way to the top table, they’d have probably provided her with better legal and financial advice in relation to this situation.

I'd suggest you Google 'socialism' but you'll probably say where is the proof in that definition as everything apart from political opinion polls are made up.

Look at how big a scandal Johnson had to get himself into before the Tories forced him to resign. Had he not run out of Cabinet appointments he would have carried on going despite having told packs of lies to Parliament and the country about what he got up to when we were under all sorts of restrictions. He said ‘let the bodies pile high’ in response to concerns about reopening the country too quickly, allowed friends of the Tory party to profit from dodgy Covid contracts and so on and so on.

He refused to resign and posters on here supported him doing it. Now a frankly much more minor misdemeanour and she’s a disgusting hypocrite who has to resign. I can see who the real hypocrites are.

Nah, you just wildly missed the point. You are not comparing like with like-I am no fan whatsoever of this Labour government.

The hypocrites are those who said Johnson was within his rights to stay on for having done far worse but want Rayner to be sacked for something not remotely on the same level. Probably because he’s ’one of the lads’ so go on, let him get away with being a lying crook.

Exactly… Rayner specifically called on every dick and Tom to resign over every minor infraction. If you dish it out, you’ve got to be able to take it.

She’s the housing minister fiddling with housing rules and she’s avoiding tax at the same time wanting to increase tax on everyone else. In 2024 she was investigated for a tax infraction too so it’s a pattern of behaviour.

No one can stand a hypocrite.

The one thing I expect from socialists is for them to pay the right amount tax because they lecture us on the costs of people not paying enough tax…

It just so happens Rayner’s political career is built on taxing the 1% more.

9 examples on one tweet and doesn’t include the video she called Zahawi to resign. Who in turn has rightfully called her hypocrite asking ‘what about my family?’

I like Angela Rayner because she is a normal person who acts in a rational way. In fact, she could possibly could be a ‘victim’ of the complexity of the UK tax code. The problem is, she/the government wants to bring more people into scope of these taxes (CTG on family homes, NI on rental income and reducing point stamp duty is paid). Tom Swarbrick said some reasonable things:

The issue that people have is the hypocrisy of it all. If Labour threw around the word ‘resign’ all over the gaff in opposition, it inevitably comes back at them. Rayner was v much the chief attack dog in this respect.

There’s also this hit piece that aired last night:

People have kept the receipts.

BTW The correct spelling is nous, a nouse is a device to direct a cursor with nose gestures, sounds like a really strange invention there, lord knows what happens if you want to sneeze.

I don't genuinely expect any of them to be clean. They all trample over everyone on their way to the top and are cunts on all sides of the house. Always have been, always will be. I enjoy the pure theatre of it all unfolding in front of us. Whilst I watched her apology last night, all I could think of was that Little Britain/Come Fly With Me clip where the pilot is stood next to his wife.

Quite. I find it astonishing that Rayner should have bought a second home, given her previous statements that buyers of such are pricing locals out of them market.

Was ever thus with champagne socialists.
