The control of people via interest rates you say? It’s the way of the world.

It’s society based on fractional reserve banking - basically a huge ponzi scheme backed by bricks and mortar, bits of paper and sentiment.

Debt = slavery.

Get people into debt and forever take a slice of what they earn. It’s going further now with “debanking” and wait until central bank digital currency comes in; total control of government and banks over people

There are alternative lending models that some countries try before being liberated by the USA.

Just saying how it is.

because poster boys for the right like BoJo, Trump are... serial adulterers and repeat divorcés popping kids out all over the shop.

You're off the reservation with some of this stuff. Is this bloke a wind-up or does he actually believe what he posts? Absolutely nuts.

The idea that conservatism or the right means stable, healthy homes and family units might the most bonkers thing I've read on here.

Not sure what this means.

Have a Guardian article (liberals like those)

Having children may make you more conservative, study finds

Research offers possibility that a decline in the birthrate contributes to liberalisation
www.theguardian.com

And an AI overview.

You won’t like that because it doesn’t back up your assertion.

Posting a Gemini AI overview in lieu of an argument shows that we are truly dealing with the biggest brains the British conservative movement has to offer.

I'm shocked.

You posted that the family unit is at risk because lefties. I'm saying that people I've encountered in my time as a parent over the last fifteen years who are left leaning are no better or worse at making safe, loving homes and families than anyone else.

Also pointed out that people running countries who have been right leaning for a large chunk of that time have been run by two people who's attitude to the family unit is horrific in every sense that I can think of. I'm saying your argument is on pretty shaky ground.

and the headline to this is 'Having children may make you more conservative, study finds'. It talks about how socially conservative people are when they've had children vs. when they don't. No mention anywhere in it that I can see about the quality of the environments that people create for their family based on their politics. How's this relevant?

Argument?

That’s what unintelligent people do.

An AI article with links to studies in Science Direct publications and PNAS studies which gives detailed evidence to fortify the assessment?

I’ll stand by that rather than snivel and drivel.

I've read what you posted, I read the article you shared. I asked what they have to do with each other and you asked me why I'm flouncing. Bit weird.

Feels like, in your head, you're Christopher Hitchens when your posts read like an older version of a kid in a chatroom claiming some pwns. Have fun!

Again, finding it difficult to grasp what you are saying with clarity. Some words maybe missed - it happens.

Peter Hitchens v Polly Mackenzie: Has liberalism eroded the family? - Bright Blue

PETER HITCHENS: Dear Polly, All my life energetic, admirable and courageous people have tried to help those who suffered in the cold glare of strict old-fashioned sexual morality. Who can...

You refer to Hitchens, but the elder is dead so here’s the younger brother giving an outline as to how liberalism has eroded the family unit.

Most people have no idea how the banking system works to exploit the many.

Will bitcoin help, couldn't say. I just try and keep my head above water.

OK. Read that. He doesn't seem to offer any evidence to support his opinion that I can see, whereas the person he's debating with offers some that calls his opinion into question. He's entitled to his opinion, but it's not exactly a slam dunk that backs up your 'lefties have ruined the family unit' idea.

You said that lefties, liberals whatever have ruined the family unit. I've never seen anything in my life that shows that to be the case. Everything you've posted in support of what you said doesn't seem to support it. Interested to know in your own words how the lefties did what you said.

Kids just back from school (they finish at 17.30) so going to spend some time with them. I’ll revert later.

In the meantime, please explain how the family unit has benefitted from liberal progressive policies…..?

Mostly breaking up abusive relationships is best for all involved, non standard arrangements like gay and lesbian parents or single parents are better recognised and supported. Child tax credits, child benefit and enforcing child maintenance has made a significant impact on child poverty rates.

I'd argue that the latest model iPhone every year or two is a luxury, who needs a grands worth of phone, it is rank consumerism.

The latest iPhone is a luxury item. A basic/standard smartphone is an essential.

We're not allowed to WFH despite it all the data for my profession showing it improves productivity. We're required to have reliable internet at home for 'emergency' calls at evenings and weekends.

Obviously when we get those calls, which are rarely emergencies, we don't receive any overtime or on call allowance.

The smartphone requirement for our clients is to allow them to log in when at the office so again they aren't getting any WFH benefit in return for allowing their personal devices to be used by their employer. Technically we can wipe and disable someones personal device if they leave the company.

Yeah, provided it's a joke not keen on boundaries on humour. Not that blekeley's post advocates any violence it is a humorous comment on Starmer's deep unpopularity with many.

The rights idea of “family” seems to be “my wife can’t divorce me and my kids can’t learn stuff I don’t teach them”, which belies a certain lack of confidence in your own family maintaining abilities.
