I did say to my girl that I’m not sure these things work how they used to and in fact they absolutely do

Shouldn’t have been necessary but was and the outcome was great

Can't help thinking it would be much better to provide free waste disposal than have ANPR drones flying over poor neighbourhoods.

We do provide free residential waste disposal. Why should tax payer pay for business disposal?

The bulky waste postcode lottery in Coventry
Doesn't look free to me, especially if you are poor and can't even afford a car.

So, every council will need to buy and employ drone operators?

Might be a police job. They already have drones. Anyway Charlie Brooker has probably already covered this in his documentry series.

Id imagine they’d pay for themselves in fines or they’re not worth having.

Weirdly what is really irking me is the line about crushing their car.

Don't do that. Sell it.

I’m hoping an absolute tonking in the local elections might make Labour realise no one voted for their pound shop Tory schtick.

I don’t hold much hope however.

This social media ‘Tory Schtick’ ‘Tory Lite’ doesn’t really wash with me Ian. I’m pretty sure the government are likely to borrow an extra £140bn-£150bn over the parliament after changing fiscal rules and taxing something like an extra £40bn per annum (£160bn+). Rightly or wrongly their first act was paying certain unions what they wanted without anything in return. Tory ?!!! Come on.

Debt interest is £100bn+ pa, we pay a premium on our debt which will only get higher if there is no control over spending*, we desperately need growth and productivity improvements and yet every union seems to think we can afford above inflation pay rises without improving productivity/efficiency and welfare is forecast to increase to around £375-400bn pa by the end of the parliament (£75bn pa on sickness benefit)….yet any attempt to get better value out of, or control of, government spending there’s cries of austerity - how is all that extra borrowing and tax classed as austerity ? That’s the crazy world we live in

Were an aging, sick (if you believe the stats) country with debt that if it continues to increase becomes more and more difficult to service

FWIW I can see both Reform and Greens, who both showed in the last election that they were economically illiterate, doing well because the public are fed up and don’t understand the mess we (and most other countries) are in. We need some honest conversations

*yes we can QE/print more but likely to get more inflation and currency debasement - may as well just say tax everyone more

Yes, I know you have. Unfortunately I doubt that everyone else have and hence the perhaps / probably unnecessary feeling on my part that I just can’t let it pass without comment.

Its a think a fair point that when a Labour MP referred to grooming gangs from the Muslim community she was shut down.

I dont think public inquiries are a lot of use but I think the point he is making is that handing it to Councils is rather pointless. We only have to look at Roger "one of our own" Ellis for that

I mean they’re getting a universally bad service. Are we really defending fly tipping to stick it to Labour now? What’s next? Leaving dog turds on pavements is a great British freedom?

Just watching this. The amount of point of failure is infuriating. Schools. Social services. Police. I think the entire idea of letting taxi drivers pick up young girls needs looking at and starting to think despite it feeling my a bit draconian there needs to be mandatory punishment for any sexual activity with a minor (U18) over the age of say 21.

You are right to be fair - but they have squeezed lower earners in other ways rather than apply a modest tax on the super rich.

You can never trap the super rich, they always find a way out. All that happens is hard working people earning a little extra have to subsidise the terminally fucking useless or idle masses. You’re a stuck record mate and always have been!

As events show Reform are utter fruitcakes and loonies. Mainly racist, biggotted old gammon men ex-Tory & Unionist voters with few braincells or solutions, who essentially just hate the colour of Badenough.
Regorm getting support in response to outrageous misinformation from Daily Mail and social media where such great citizens, with little or no kind or compassionate bones in their bodies, get wound up and provoked in an echo chamber of dispair, doom and gloom about anecdotal opinions on crime, invasion, gender, new housing, art, farming, flag flying, cyclists, climate change, BBC, protectors, and Councils amongst other matters.
They essentially hate their country and can't be arsed to read or research anything from scientists or proper journalists or media outlets on anything.
