Christian church cover ups have been appalling.

The grooming gangs were Muslims weren't they, so those poor girls lives were shit because of them.

I did get cross with a fellow patient who was exclaiming quite loudly that all the housing being built was for fucking immigrants. I don’t think he had realised that our care was being delivered by said immigrants who were probably invited to work at that hospital ( following an international recruitment programme).

80% of them were. Probably 95-99% were men. 1/4 of all people are Muslim, it’s not a useful category to target, to use machine learning terminology (look it up) the accuracy might be good but the precision is fucking awful.

This is the problem all the way through. OK it was Muslim Grooming Gangs. Now what?

Nick Robinson was good this morning pressing Jenrick on this point. Should Sajid Javid be deported? Unsurprisingly he couldn’t answer and that’s why we don’t take this viewpoint seriously. It’s not actionable.

So was that why action wasn’t taken earlier for fear of being accused of racism or islamophobia?

That wasn’t the main reason. Action mostly wasn’t taken because of a combination of attitudes to underage sex, police corruption, and attitudes to working class girls. There was a small amount of wokeness from some, but without the other things this would never have happened.

I’ll ask again: OK let’s say it was 100%. British Pakistani men. What policy would you introduce to tackle that specific issue?

Starmer is already bringing in compulsory reporting btw which does actually tackle this as those people who were not reporting for fear of racism if they existed would be prosecuted now.

Thanks Duffer, I hadnt seen that. Will try to keep an eye or ear out for the trial, hopefully it will be hard to miss. Just can’t rely on the BBC these days to report anything not aligned with their agenda. As your second link says, most if this stuff has disappeared from the media, for some obscure reason.

It wasnt necessarily two tier policing - they had done their jobs, completed the investigation n submitted the case to the CPS who seem to have sat on their hands - for FIVE months. Ffs

Stark contrast to the number of rioters tried and imprisoned.

Not two tier policing, more like two tier justice ( using the word loosely).

Why do you think the CPS had sat on their hands for 5 months? You can't be that facile surely? It's one of those situations where so much evidence which had already been disclosed publicly that they have got to be exceptionally careful about making sure there could be no claim there isn't a fair trial. That's most likely why there was a delay.

I can kind of see what you are saying, but basically they were caught bang to rights. Given how explicit the video evidence is, a jury is hardly going to have been influenced by having seen it months before trial. A quicker decision may have increased the chance of a fair trial. Less chance for extended pre trial conversations between eventual jurists and randoms.

I don't understand why, in relation to the decision to charge the assailants, there is reference to the events after the original assault on the WPCs. It makes it sound as if there might have been a vague possibily not to charge because of a subsequent event. Which would have surely been as wrong as it gets. Whilst not disagreeing with the decision not too charge the police officer in the video which was released first, it would have been fascinating to be a fly on the wall during that discussion.

The rioters posed an immediate and widespread security risk that needed to be contained. The Manchester Airport guys didn't. They were policed accordingly.

Ad nauseum for you maybe. Alternatively we have been Over this until there has been a decision and an official explanation as to the cause of the delay, rather than some random football forum poster‘s opinion. I hasten to add we have on,y had the first of those two points addressed. So no guarantees it won’t be discussed again. Keep your sick bucket to hand.

Maybe a quicker decision would have dampened down the widespread security risk from the whites. Or increased it amongst the Muslim community. If the latter, that would be a case of ethnicity influencing the application of justice. Two tier if you like.

Deported for what? And to where? He is British born.

Who is exempt from deportation UK?

Section 7(1) of the 1971 Act provides an exemption from deportation where all of the following apply: the person was a Commonwealth or Irish citizen when the 1971 Act came into force on 1 January 1973. the person was ordinarily resident in the UK on 1 January 1973.

How is it a surprise Jenrick couldn't’, or perhaps wouldn’t, answer?

It’s the classic simple answer and faux outrage that reform and musk and trump are guilty of time and time again
The tories are unconscionable with their approach having done fuck all from the report published in 2022
I know reform and x want to focus on the Pakistani Muslim aspect and it’s important this isn’t ignored but there’s so many other areas that are the same that I’m one for delivering on the 109 recommendations and then if necessary commissioning another report
It’s as if I’m guilty of raping and murdering myself

Nah fuck this shit. Attacking Phillips really shows you don’t give a fuck about this issue. Proper mask off moment. You can have issues with her on all sorts of stuff but she is by far the most effective and committed campaigner on violence against women and girls.

So you don’t think that crew should get off their arses and start implementing then?

Criticising those in power in the past for doing fuck all and accepting those in power now doing fuck all seems to be a bit of a double standard. Bit like the difference between uneaten birthday cake and quaffed beer and curry.

Previous governments should have either accepted the recommendations and started implementation or made clear why not. For example, if a global crisis had interfered.

I also don’t know why the government don’t just respond to critics by ostentatiously pointing at this bill. Or are they just masochists?
