Rachel 'the Grinch' Reeves steals 45% of YOUR donations, charities say

The Chancellor's National Insurance raid will add an extra £1.4billion to wage bills in the already struggling voluntary sector, forcing bosses to decide whether to lay off staff or axe vital services.

Perhaps they should be releasing plenty of women early, emptying women’s prisons and repurpose them for men

'6 milestones, 5 missions, 3 foundations: Have Labour's lists changed too much?' - LabourList

For all the tweaks, and speculation the missions could be ditched, Starmer remains a man on not one but five missions.

Is it shit? Is it random? It is Daily Mai I’m afraid.

isn’t it pretty poor if nearly half of a charitable donation ends up in the treasury?I fear essentials like Air Ambulance.

In truth we have had 5 months of constant talking down of the economy, not 5 minutes, plus all of the other shit we have been discussing on here.

The plan doesn’t change. It may or may not work but it’s barely even started yet. The major legislation hasn’t been brought forward, and even the changes that have been made are yet to actually come into practice mostly.

The talking down of the economy has mostly been from people like yourself desperate to pretend the sky has fallen because Labour dared get elected. Because that’s apparently political discussion these days. Everything is the end times.

So Starmer hasn’t talked down the economy?

I think he has.

Keir Starmer set to warn: 'Things will get worse before we get better'

The Conservatives have disputed Labour's claim they left a black hole in the public finances.
www.bbc.co.uk

could argue that he has been an accurate prescient, although the courses of action really are acts of self fulfilling prophecy.

But it's a complete nonsense article. It states 45p of every pound donated to charity will be paid in tax due to NI increases. They've arrived at that figure by assuming charities only income is from donations. A quick google suggests donations actually make up around 30% of a charities income.

Let's not kid ourselves the economy has not been working properly for many years insofar as a minimum maintaining living standards for the many. Reeves so far hasn't really done anything, most of the budget is for the next financial year. The crash in the economy we're experiencing was priced in already.

I think the impact of the NI rise will impact some SME businesses. One near me says it will mean he will have to scale back recruitment plans and probably lose some workers if the business demand remains as is.

It’s the flattest I’ve known it since I have been in my place. Costs meanwhile rise and council rates have gone up 40% since last review. Many of the very small businesses round here will close.

I know, that's what's coming down the line but it's not necessarily the reason for such poor economic data now. It feels pretty likely there will be a recession next year, and more austerity thereafter with these clowns

Im sure there’s some clever accounting reason or whatever but firing/making people redundant just before Christmas is the dickest of dick moves. Would one more month kill you?
