I’m looking forward to my energy bill reducing by £300 from where it was when Ed Milliband took over that portfolio.

All gone remarkably quiet on that front,

How can they say they are "the party of growth" when they are already increasing taxes on every business in the country? You can wave bye-bye to a pay rise next year if your employer is having to pay the government more.

Time has come for reparations conversation, say Commonwealth leaders

The UK had previously insisted the subject was not on the agenda at the leaders' summit in Samoa.

Whar was wrong with just saying no, Starmer. Weak as fuck. Unless he is dealing with OAPs.

What would you cut or who would you tax? Annoyingly we’re skint and we’ve already cut to the bone. And everyone who we could raise serious money from has the same argument against it.

TBF he says there that it’s a no on money. Does it matter if we say sorry we stole your grandad to pick cotton? I’m less bothered.

Like lunches, there’s no such thing as a free reparartion. The cost being banded about is ludicrous, the UK population would have to become slaves themselves to deliver it. It’s probably called diplomacy, but in my view it would have been better to have clearly said ”no” so that these people can stop deluding themselves.

Many of these countries could better the conditions for their people by stamping out political corruption.

Alex Scott, ex footballer and commentator used to be very vocal about slavery and repatriations needed. She went on Who do you think you are, it seemed hoping to find people blighted by slavery. She found out her relatives made a fortune out of slavery. She hasn't mentioned it since.

Moment Labour MP Mike Amesbury sucker punched consitituent

This is the shocking moment Labour MP Mike Amesbury punched a male constituent and hit him repeatedly while he lay on the ground.
www.dailymail.co.uk

That looks unprovoked to me, the guy the Labour MP assaults has his hands in his pockets.

Surely a by election in the offing.

I wonder how long this will take to get to court.

The comment re MPfor gobshites was after the MP had committed the vicious assault.

The MP for gobshites is clearly trying to cover his back by saying “you Will never threaten me again”, unaware that the whole incident of him punching a guy with his hands in his pockets has been caught on cam. Very lucky that he didnt hit his head in the kerb.

He should be in jail, he won’t though cos they’re full and we don’t crack down on violent crimes like we should. What’s the rules for by elections? Is it convicted of a crime? At best he’ll lose the whip I imagine.

Labour suspends MP Mike Amesbury after video appears to show him punching man

Mike Amesbury also has the whip withdrawn, as police say a 55-year-old man has been interviewed under caution over the incident.
www.bbc.co.uk

”Appears to show him punching”.

Is that as in it appears that Russia invaded Ukraine? Or that Christmas appears to be on 25th December?

It will be interesting to see how long this takes for him to be charged and subsequently appear in court. It is a matter of public interest and should surely be expedited, as should the cases involving the Manchester incident and the Labour councillor,

Likely other stuff happened before the punch
Maybe allow it to be investigated before concluding

Bit like the Manchester airport incident?

The whip was removed once the full video was shown.

It’s the use of the word “appeared”. There is absolutely no doubt that the MP punched a bloke who had his hands in his pockets, and then continued to punch him as he cowered on the ground.

That’s 8 MPs with the whip now removed in their first 3 months. Keep this up and 160 will be out in 5 years

“But as the video shows, for 90 seconds ahead of the violence, the politician and the unnamed man were merely in what appears to be a heated conversation, with some finger-pointing at one another.

It was claimed last night that the pair did not know each other prior to the incident in the centre of the Cheshire market town Frodsham.

The unnamed man stands with his hands in his pockets and makes no movement towards Mr Amesbury when the politician suddenly hits him with a left-handed jab so forcefully that his opponent is sent to the ground.

The CCTV footage then shows Mr Amesbury bending over the man and throwing at least five more punches. Others milling about in the street run to break it up.

The MP had spent the evening at a meeting with residents, the local policing team and Cheshire’s Labour Police and Crime Commissioner, Dan Price, to discuss ‘policing priorities and concerns’.”

I wonder if they discussed late night violence on the streets as a policing priority or concern,
