This is why I think he’ll ultimately end up in the Conservatives.

Did you mean wouldn’t underestimate?

In which case, I’d agree it’s foolish to underestimate him. He cuts through to voters who traditionally would be Labour voters with conservative ideas.

Farage is already getting far too much air time and he sounds like he will be a menace in the already lawless parliament

Brilliant result for Labour as this should of been impossible given the position the party was in in 2019.

Lot's for Labour to think about though, particularly how we mean bridges with the muslim community.

Do actually feel for reform, 4 seats is not a lot for the amount of votes but hey the right didn't support us when we tried for a version of pr in that referendum

what a night. sat up and watched it all.

two thirds of the seats, but only one third of the votes. not good.
as clear an indication as ever that the electoral system in this country is very unfair.

On the flip side, Reform has got about 14% of the total vote but only 4 seats. So it's not all bad!

It really isn’t a brilliant result for Labour. The position in terms of proportion of the vote has barely improved from 2019 and the percentage of those eligible to vote who have voted Labour has actually decreased.

I’m human I can’t wish good on my enemies

Dear Lord
You say love our enemies and bless those who persecute us. Wtaf were you thinking? How can this counterculture idea become a reality when you’ve given people who live with us such different and often contradictory views and opinions.
You know how naive I am but for all parties please give them wisdom to pursue politics of honesty and transparency. Politics that’s honouring and respectful.
That parliament and those that are elected would have a commitment to serving the public over party politics and ego
That’s my prayer this morning
Amen

one thing i will say about farage - he had the balls to set up a separate party, when he realised his views were so far from where the tories were at the time. corbyn just tried to hijack the labour party with his momentum group.
the problem is, bar a couple of individuals, momentum are still party of labour. they are as split as the tories, they just had the sense to keep a lid on it for a while. but it will all come flooding out again soon enough.

Literally all that matters is winning the election, by as large a margin as possible, and that's exactly what they've done.

How can a huge majority be anything other than a brilliant result, to suggest anything else is just saltiness.

There's enough n the language used, not just by him but by some of his acolytes, that I have no problem in dubbing them a racist party. The worst thing with it all is he actually stops an adult debate about immigration.

Well when you have 685,000 people arriving in the UK in 2023 (according to the net migration observatory) it's hardly surprising that the pressure on infrastructure becomes intolerable.
The NHS can't keep up, housing supply can't keep up, house prices escalate as demand rockets etc etc etc.

Farage isn't against immigration, but the numbers need to be managed to preserve our services.

It's a great result for Labour but they've won it by effectively doing nothing and saying nothing.
They're in government because they're not the Conservatives.

I have no problem with that even though I didn't vote for it. The Conservatives got everything they deserved.
