I said the other day that he’s like Trump and his supporters won’t care and will see it as the ‘MSM’ agenda against him.

As an aside, when people in the UK talk about the MSM and it’s agenda, who/what is acceptable to them?

I mentioned no names, funny how I didn't need to!

I just wonder who the innocent families in the middle east consider to be the worst dictator?

Personally I'd be happier if both were drowned at birth (along with Biden and his manipulators)

Nigel has other qualities

The mysterious sex appeal of Nigel Farage

Nigel Farage's relationships and personal life is apparently complicated. Perhaps it’s because he’s got a strange allure for women.

I’m really not sticking up for Putin, him and his henchman are serious bad news for the world. I was just pointing out the mainstream media hype because it was Farage.
Just to clarify, I won’t be voting for him or anyone in this election as it was announced after we booked to go away and we couldn’t sort out a postal vote in time either.

It would be great to see Farage held to account in the UK like this interview

It's worth watching just for his "up the 'RA" birthday greeting.

Right. Standard centrist politicians in western democracies just like dictators in brutal dictatorships.

Just so I can update the chart Philosoraptor started are you putting Putin slightly to the left or right of Hitler? Just trying to get a grasp on things.

TBF while it was his normal matey matey style Nick Robinson did a decent job exposing his nonsense. Problem is Farage and co have spent years telling their fans not to listen to the lying media so not sure what impact it has other than making everyone else cosy on social media.

Day 9: Social Care

Click here to listen to an audio recording of this reflection.
Acts 4.32-37

'There was not a needy person among them for as many as owned lands or houses sold them … and it was distributed to each as any had need.’

Today’s Bible reading describes the life of the earliest Christian believers. From the very start, they recognised that they had responsibility to support one another practically as well as spiritually. They lived generously, encouraging mutual respect and enabling the dignity of each individual. This way they ensured that everyone could take a full part in the life of the community.

When we create such a community, nobody need feel dependent or ashamed of their particular needs. We all have needs and we also have something unique to give. Our social care system connects with all of us, or our family, neighbours and friends, at some stage of our lives. It embraces the elderly, children and young people, and adults who are vulnerable or have particular needs.

As we pray, we ask how we might honour God’s image in every person, by creating and sustaining an umbrella system of care which cherishes every person equally.
Heal the sick in body and mind,
and provide for the homeless,
the hungry and the destitute.
Hear us, good Lord.

Day 10: Housing

Click here to listen to an audio recording of this reflection.
Psalm 127.1-2

‘Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labour in vain.’
A home is more than bricks and mortar. But it’s not less either, for having a place to call home is essential for our wellbeing. In the UK, we need more homes. On this point, all political parties are agreed, for without a home, we are cut off from society.

But having a home means more than security and shelter. A home gives us identity and belonging and sense of worth. And if the Lord builds the house, then it will also be a place of love, hospitality, dignity and flourishing.

In the ‘Our Father’ we pray: ‘Give us today our daily bread’. Which means give us what we need for today. Good, affordable, secure housing is daily bread. It is a basic human need. It is, quite literally, the foundation stone of good communities.

Let us pray today that such a firm foundation can be laid, so that everyone has a home, and everyone can flourish, and everyone belong.

Grant to all our neighbours
safe and affordable housing,
and help us to build communities
where all have space to flourish.
Hear us, good Lord.

Sunak playing the we got Brexit done card now despite polling showing those who think Brexit was a fuck up being at an all time high.

When will we get polling that's after Farage's Russian comments? Interested to see if it moves the needle at all, suspect it won't.

Day 11: Education

Click here to listen to an audio recording of this reflection.
Proverbs 3.1-8

‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.’
We are creatures of curiosity. Education feeds our deep desire to learn, to explore, to create, to discover.

The Bible speaks of wisdom that is not about what we know – the information we access - but also about who we are – the formation of our character. Such education is lifelong.

From midwives and early years practitioners to care-home workers, countless people are involved in delivery of learning of all kinds to people of all ages. Professionals in nurseries, schools, colleges and universities deliver formal education at every level. Every day, millions of people are involved in this provision across our nation.

Education is so vital to us individually and collectively. Education can enable us to grow in ‘life in all its fullness’as Jesus offered.

So let us pray today for all those involved in education: professionals and volunteers, teachers and learners. Let’s pray for safety and good practice, for equal access and opportunity. And let us give thanks for all that is life-giving and beneficial in education.

Give wisdom and compassion to those who teach,
strength to those who lead our schools,
and guidance to those who set policy.
Hear us, good Lord.

Feels like it’s all over bar the shouting now. The polls haven’t narrowed between Labour and the Tories so with a week to go that looks unlikely to happen. I think the Greens are Lib Dem’s have been steady all through the campaign with polling so their numbers look set. The only real question is how much success Reform will have, the papers are turning on him after his Russia comments so the only outstanding question is what effect will that have on polling. Might be nothing but I’ve long suspected that people will change their mind when they’re actually putting their cross in the box and Reform are the one party where polling flatters to deceive.

The problems of predicted under capacity seem to be because of plans to use HS2 rolling stock on existing lines. So don’t do that.

They just think Farage "says it how it is" and wants to stop immigrants coming in, and it ends there
