This thread is already going through the gears and we're still weeks away. Delicious.

I don't know how anyone can sit here and seriously suggest either the Conservatives or Labour are going to do the best for this country. They are both absolutely shite and should be wiped off the face of the earth.

The notion that one does shit for a few years, so the other gets voted in for doing next to nothing other than not being the failure currently in power is like a psychosis the whole country is under.

The worse choice of candidates by far in my 42 year voting life.
We have labour who are more conservative than the conservatives who has aliented so much of the older labour vote , a useless rudderless Tory party, and don’t get me started on the other options
It’s such a sad state of affairs, really sad to see

And they say neoliberalism is dead after the vote on EU membership.

I think we are finding out the shit what we have to call for public services has been cut to the bone by not just the Tories but by an awfully eager Labour Party as well.

Has anyone asked how Coventry's VLR is getting along recently?

What we should do is to tie councillor remunerations directly into the profits or loss made by them cutting public services through the combined authorities and spending it on pie in the sky stuff.

We could make a lot of efficiency savings doing this to actually fund public services.

I'm not sure who said that. It was always a choice between 2 different types of neoliberalism.

You going for Reform, Greens, or the classic “none of them” like a true coward?

Ahahahahaha. Fucking classic. Even Reform accept they won’t actually cut immigration. They’ll allow health and social care staff, so basically most of the existing immigrants.

Any of you accepting you’re being taken for a ride yet?

The last few seconds of that clip perfectly encapsulates grifters like Farage and Co.

They just spout stuff that sounds great to boomers, but with absolutely no substance or truth behind it because there simply doesn't need to be, it's obviously never going to be implemented.

A bit like the Tory manifesto I guess - national service etc.

No, I said if you claim no party is special enough for your totally unique and also completely sensible beliefs, you’re a coward. Because you want to sit and snipe at everyone else.

It’s more likely if no party comes close to representing you that it’s because you have completely unworkable beliefs than you are some ultra pure genius who sees through the NPCs.

I’ll take the man who has worked his entire life in public service over Nige the grifter on this measure personally. But sure. Everyone’s the same.

I’m just pointing out that he’s changed policy based on what he thinks people want to hear and that serves him best in that moment politically. He’s the same as any other politician.

That fact that people like you think he is in anyway comparable to fascist cunts like Farage is quite absurd.

I’m just pointing out it’s the approach that will win the election but what will lead to nothing actually changing for the better.
