He'd get absolutely rinsed.
He doesn't really come under that much scrutiny at the minute and he's great at sniping from the sides but he's got no really policies or anything of substance that would stand up to serious examination.
He's basically the political equivalent of this forum, (same applies to the greens).

With the way things are going I don’t think people would be that bothered and they’d be the narrative of the mainstream media and the elite nonsense, just like in the USA. He managed to get his way on Brexit as well.

If 'Get Brexit Done' and hiding in a fridge can win an election, then all bets are off!

He helped 'get brexit done!' but nothing he's said would happen thereafter has actually happened.
I think people would see through him, though I thought that about Johnson, (and they sort of did in the end).

The more people become disillusioned, the more chance there is of someone like him becoming PM. I genuinely think it’s a possibility if the Tories decide to lurch even further to the right.

He's much more able and intelligent than Johnson. He also believes what he says and unfortunately a lot of people share his views. I agree with Sick Boy that he is likely to become Tory leader, maybe after a short period of someone else like Mordaunt or Badenoch.

Well the tory party is at a crossroads now, does it go further to the right or does it go more one nation tory?
I think it will be the former and I think it will eventually send it further into the wilderness.

That’s what he wants to do. Ironically he will appeal to more working class Labour voters in the north than the traditional southern one nation Tory voters - if he succeeds he will obviously target Labour areas of the north

He's hardly ignored.

I think we know why he appeals to a certain element and I will sneer at that because it's disgraceful.

Missed all the debates. Anything worth watching? The whole campaign feels a bit redundant TBH. Let’s just have the election.

Apparently Nigel Farage won, Rayner second and Mordaunt finishing 5th.

Watched the England game instead of the debates so regretting that now.

Him still being and 8 years after Brexit and even more mainstream now suggests otherwise.

One figure no one is mentioning is George Galloway - now there is a blatant racist but also hugely charismatic and a tactical politician.

Rochdale it’s suggested is a battle between his party and reform - there is little hope for Labour or the Tories there.

Rayner may lose her seat - his party will be a menace in these elections

He's tried to be an MP and lost 7 times.

Of course he'd get all the racist votes but he would be way too divisive for a mainstream party.

A disgusting piece of shit that will appeal to voters who otherwise would vote for the Labour Party. What irony.

Immigration is single top priority for voters so it shouldn’t be a surprise that a party that says they’re willing to address that is surging in the polls.

The political class has had over 20 years to address the concerns people have had. There’s been complacency that we won’t experience what the like of; the Netherlands, Germany, France and Italy (and others) are going through with their own political realignments.

It was also cowardly that last nights debate only contained deputies with the exception of Farage.

Unfortunately he’s not stupid and it’s part of a longer term plan, IMO. For a long time they’ve been trying to replicate what’s going on in the USA in the UK. You already get it with people going on about the mainstream media telling lies to the public to protect ‘them’.

Not sure I agree Galloway is racist, he's a slimy opportunist who is happy to whip up the worse elements of his support if it suits. A horrible piece of work.
Great orator though to give him his due.

Why would we want to give Galloway more publicity? Like Farage a toxic influence.

The most recent YouGov poll has it 4th.

General election 2024: what are the most important issues for voters? | YouGov

While 2019 may have been the Brexit election, few see it as a top issue this time round

He’s been on the most influential politicians on UK politics over the last 10 years. To get complacent and write him off is just repeating what led to Brexit.

Well, yes. After all he was sacked immediately after his overt racism - too extreme for a mainstream party as Farage would be.

They don’t have to deal with the consequences of their policies because they won’t be in government. It’s why the minor parties can articulate their policies on these big debates well because no one is interested in scrutinising their program.

He wasn’t sacked as an MP and in 1972 was considered the most popular politician in the uk and Michael Hesiktine admitted if he’d took Heath on he’d have easily been prime minister.

He then told his his Wolverhampton constituents he was standing down and to vote Labour
