Simple question, do we miss and experienced head in our defence like McFadzean? was it right to let him go? he was a big character and may have brought valuable experience to our younger defenders whether on the pitch or as a sub.

Admittedly he could not be playing 46 games a season but how valuable would he have been had he stayed.

We miss a leader in defence for sure tonight proved that in those goals Oxford scored not McFazdean too old but a younger version

Bizarre take. Well past it at the level we want to be at, would be a waste of wages and wasn’t even good playing in a 4atb. I do agree we need an experienced head in the mix that can easily start. Worrall

I think we’re missing Dennis Lawrence more. The defence has been poor since he left.

No, Fadz is a legend but he wouldn't fit the system.

What we're seeing is a back 4 that is young and constantly being changed so don't settle. Add to this that we expect our full backs to attack and don't have a 6 to drop back and protect the defence and it causes us to concede silly goals.

On balance no. 9 times from 10 we win that 4/5 - 0. Them scoring two freaky goals from three or four attacks is not a major worry.

As said before its definitely Lawrence, our set pieces have gone down hill as well in both defense and attack

We miss somebody with his experience and leadership qualities.
We don't miss "him" as it was widely believed that he was only really at his best in a back 3.
We don't play a back three at present.

No we don't miss Fadz, we wouldn't be able to play a back 4 with him.

What did do was fail to bring in players to improve our back defence, which was always a vulnerability last season.

We miss a player LIKE Fadz. Experienced, can talk the back 4 around a game. And knows the dark arts.

It was noticeable tonight how threatening we looked from corners and free kicks , and that will only improve with work done on the training ground

Not Fadz but a Fadz alike who can organise the defence definitely.

No.

Only people who say yes are over 50 years old.

Do we miss a player LIKE Fadz, yes.

We need somebody with a commanding presence in that back line, it isn’t 40 year old fadz tho

Seen the goals we’ve conceded this season so far? It’s been nightmarish.

When did Fadz become prime Baresi , he was always half a yard away from red card in a foot race

I agree the concern would be that Dean Austin has spent 6 million on league 1 talent and we really need one of Thomas or Kitching to really step up this season.

Can see it taking a few weeks for the back 5 to gel.

Do we ?
I couldn't give a flying fuck who partners who at centre back as long as we're winning .
And I'm certainly not going to look for scoring internet points using price tags to make a daft opinion more valid

It’s crazy the one area of the team with no players in or out is the one that looks furthest off being settled.

Id like to see Lats talk more, he’s captain at the moment. Maybe we can get him a tactical masterclass.

We looked at times if you score 3 we'll score 4 . It can work (very Kevin Keegan) but not sure it's us. The defence needs sorting out quickly

Let’s put this to bed please.

We all saw his deficiencies during the playoff final.

Bullied by a more mobile attacking force and looked way out of his depth. (Same could be said of McNally too)

Robins saw that battering and brought in a pacier more mobile, stronger defensive unit.

So please no more 37 year olds playing top half championship football.
