I was just reading the Hull fc forum and one supporters comment said the following.

I thought they were yet another ****e anti-football side. Don't get me wrong it obviously worked better than us but I'm so fed up of teams that come and basically cheat. They started time wasting on 10 minutes (that's not an exaggeration, I checked the clock at the time), every time we attacked their tactic was to try and win a free kick and yet a-****ing-gain the ref bought it every single time. Referees in this division are absolutely ****e at dealing with anti-football teams. Every time one of them turns up the ref is the only person in the stadium oblivious to what's going on. Keepers time-wasting, why not just book them the first time and they'll stop? Platt running in front of the keeper every time he wants to kick it quickly, why only book him the 3rd time? If he gets onto that cheating the first time then it stops.

It wasn't just the ref's fault we lost today, but it's way underestimated the impact they can have. People think it's just penalties and red cards that matter, but all these soft free kicks in and around their box when we're attacking (like the one Stewart got booked for moaning about), all this stopping the game every couple of seconds (which is exactly what they want!) all this stopping quick free kicks and throwins (but only for one team) and all this treating players on the pitch when they are inches from the touchline. It all plays right into their hands, it's ****ing ridiculous that they deal with this in the way they do. If they just implemented some simple disciplinary measures (the rules of the game) for say one season they could quickly stop all this cheating and ****ing about by away teams.

How many is that now? Watford, Derby, Coventry, Crawley and Leeds have all come to the KC just to **** about and not actually play any football. On the flipside when we played Leicester at home they had 10 men and were clinging onto a point but the ref actually did well lettting the game flow in that game and surprise surprise we tire them out and eventually get a late winner. That's the difference that cn be made by this attitude of refs.

but if i remember rightly they did the same for at our ground

Funny isn't it that most people acknowledge we are actually a "footballing" side but one fan can't see the wood through the trees. He's probably a typical, overly-biased fan that can't take his orange and black tinted glasses off for one second. It's bitterness. No team lose 4 in row because of "cheating" teams and shit refs. It's because they are not good enough in those games. He needs to go away and learn about humility.

I agree with you on that its bitterness that they are losing there way in the play-off race but I have to say there was one hull supporter that said we deserved the win and he hopes we will stay up.

Oh yeah, it won't be all of them. Every club has them, those supporters that will argue their team were better, or the other team were cheats or the ref was shit even if they lost 5-0.

I think it could be more to the fact that they lost to a team that haven't won away all season but i do agree that every team has supporters like him just need to blame anyone else apart from his team

Opinions are like arseholes - everybody has one and every arsehole has an opinion, doesn't make it valid. This is just one arsehole's opinion.

No we don't cheat (apart from keogh's dives) - if anything this season we have been a bit too nice and honest for our own good.

Ha! Some people just can't take a defeat. I don't go but it sounded like Hull had ample of chances to win the game...... But missed. Who's fault was that? We took ours, and we took the points! Not been often in recent terms where we've been able to say that!

they must have looked at the fixture lkist and thought, "well, if all else fails, we have coventry at home in a couple of weeks"

I'd be absolutely delighted if we did everything he said we did - win at all costs, dont care how, when you're in the bottom three every bit of gamesmanship helps.

At the end of the day we havent been physical enough this season and have just rolled over at times, i'm more than happy to be a team nobody like playing

Because Hull is renowned for its Barca-esque philosophy of course.

To be fair, Murphy did start time-wasting from about the 10th minute. It took the sting out of Hull just as they were developing a head of steam.

Quality gamesmanship.

Look how Norwich got promoted ! Grant Holt should be in the Olympics Diving Team ! Norwich play attractive football but also use gamesmanship to it's advantage.

He does it regularly. One of my favourite things about him. Fed up of being the victim of this kind of behaviour, so nice to give it out for a change.

Nothing wrong with a bit of professionalism along the way - all teams do it sounds like a decent compact away performance which came just at the right time. Our home games are massive now mind.....teams may well "cheat" in same way at our place now given our improving home form....just have to get on with it and et the job done!

Maybe it has something to do with the fact their playing pitch was described as one of the worst in the division by the commentators that teams CAN'T play good football on it.

Hull should stick to rugby, stupid egg chasers.

And of course the likes of Hull have never done that kind of thing

First half or more of the season we were nice Coventry playing safe largely ineffective football and were viewed as soft touches by other teams and their supporters who often adopted these so called "cheating" tactics. Now we are playing with passion, desire, grit and intelligence and they dont like it. Really dont care what they think - whatever it takes to stay up this season - but such tactics are not all one way, pot calling kettle comes to mind.

In answer to the original question; yes but far less than most. Time-wasting isn't cheating. If someone passes the ball back to the keeper, and he waits to pick it up, it's not cheating. If a player dives it is - so I have no issue with time wasting.

Exactly, nice to read how we have been the team slowing things down, time wasting. Horses for courses aint it, good gamesmanship. A few things Thron would have learnt from his Wimbledon days no doubt, and good to see it implimented by our young side, who, given our away form could have easily been indimidated at 'Ull away

No Offence to Dull City but they're just a 2nd rate team from Dorkshire, ever since they went to the Prem they think their club is now massive :thinking about:

Lived in Dull for 15 years and I can honestly say they bore the tits out of me, bunch of :jerkit: 's whilst still riding their ex-prem high horse.

I recall a very successful Liverpool side, in the seventies and eighties, who knew exactly how to take the sting out of the oppsition away from home. It would always quieten the home crowd, then liverpool would strike quickly.

Not just the scousers.....and Leeds, and forest to name a couple......all succesful teams know how to 'manage' the game. Neil warnock could write a book on it.....

Of course we're a terrible side who cheat, that's not the bitter reaction of a fan of a side who should be winning these games at all. You can file that along with the posts on every forum about how a player suddenly becomes overrated and no great loss as soon as he moves on.
