must admit i have been pro thorn all this time, however it does appear something has to give.
but lets all remember that it must be one of the hadest jobs going at the moment and would warnock even want it even if he was offered it.
at the end of the day we still need sisu out before this club goes anywhere other than...........backwards...........f%^k me that hurts even to write it

Do we have to be at the game then, to understand !!!
Some of us older ones on here choose not to live in England, so do we have to then shut up ,and not to have an opinion. We all subscribe to skyblueplayer, and if we do attend a game it can cost more than a season ticket to go to one game if we have no family are close or there not available.
I'm 48 and I ve been going to 36 years before i came to fecking France, so shut the feck up and stop acting like a complete dick.

Never for a minute said you're a bad fan.

Just saying that had you been there (whether that was feasible or not) you'd have seen a team cheated out of a game by Lee Martin and a referee.

We were well on top at the end so it's not as if Thorn obviously had to change something (like at Blackpool for example), it was just a sucker punch.

We're all as gutted as each other, so let's not resort to personal insults eh?

Surely the manager should be telling Deegan not to give the ball away in his own half at 2-2 with thirty seconds to go?

If he has to tell a pro footballer not to give te ball away then there really is no-one that could get results out of this bunch.

thorn would never leave this job, he is living the dream, a well travelled scout that unbelievably got a reasonably big managers job in championship terms, hopefully he is on a one yr deal so he can go quietly in the summer, trouble is if sisu are still here come the summer then u can guarantee they will keep him, cheap option, a yes man, so sad but we are heading towards league 2 unless something changes over the summer

I'm sure every manager in the country from capello to Sunday league will be telling their players not to give the ball away in their own half. Whether the players go and make that mistake or not is the players decision at that given time - absolutely nothing to do with tactics.

Dont try and be a clever dick. I think most people on here can understand the point i was making.

Sorry, i had mistaken your logic with something that was rational. But you're right, Warnock taking Sheffield Utd and QPR up out weighs the accolades of the above.

Back to the point you were making. What was it?

20+ pts dropped from winning positions has got to be tactical errors sorry but that has to be down to AT time to go, why not give gregor, carsley or oggy a go cant do any worse

Lots of anger on here. I think that is partly because for many reality has now set in and we are down. Oddly I don't blame thorn for this specific defeat. It was an even game which could have gone either way. Possibly not a penalty but Clark should have been punished 5 minutes earlier and we were asleep at the follow up from the save.
He isn't good enough and never will be but this particular game I think actually was an ok performance. We will get relegated because if the first half of the season and the imbecilic tactics that mean full backs are constantly exposed as he refuses to get proper supporting wide players.

Sutty, everytime there is a game and we lose , nearly every thread contains these three phrase's

1. "do you ever go to watch "
2. "were you at the game"
3. "your not a proper fan if you don't go to every game"

If you have a look back through you will see them. I'm comingb back to live fairly soon in Norfolk and i'm itching to get back into the matchday routine, but i will not spend a penny of my money watching SISU/Thorn's team play across the park for 88 minutes and the other two minutes watch us concede goals.
I agree with a previous poster that we will need to sell every player over 22,keep the kids is what i mean get rid of the rest of them, and with them the total first team manager and coaching set up. The whole club is rotten to the core with losers, and the losing mentality.
I'm sorry i got angry with you but i'm so pissed off again.

Agree with you there Rev. Still have my ticket for Reading, yet to book the train (extra £25)-and after these 2 results, I don't know whether I can stomach seeing the club suffer this much and keep forking out for it. So bloody fed up.

No worries, we're all annoyed.

I shouldn't have put that, I was see how it would be misconstrued - it was in no way intended as an attack on people who don't go to games.

I agree with selling a large number of the players. Too much baggage for some of them and the wages should be spent building for the future with some young players.

I don't care how long it takes us to get out of League 1 (that's where we're heading, Thorn or no Thorn, SISU or no SISU), but to get promoted we need to get the club in order on and off the pitch, and at this stage we have neither.

Rev I have said this before.
It is not just sisu but the whole club that is rotten with a losing mentality, and to those who advocate in wanting AT to stay I feel they only want him so it keeps the hatred for sisu alive.

If we were being successful to a degree there would be not so much sisu hatred being shown but while the shit continues then sisu can still be blamed for the entire mess, I blame them for many things and that includes keeping a scout in charge of team affairs, at any other club he would have been gone long ago, any manager would have been worth a throw of the dice but to keep AT in charge was only ever going to take us in one direction and that was down

Sorry Ichan, myself and the 3 people I sit with all think Thorn is our best manager since Black. It's sod all to do with SISU or feeling sorry for him, we just think that with even some resources, he'd have us mid table. The form under him last season shows what he can do with a couple of decent players and more than 12 senior players.

I will end my Thorn rant this way,

There are some on here who clearly say " Thorn is doing his best with what he's been given and no-one else would do better"

My answer to that, Yes i totally agree he's doing his best with what he's got, and we know that as fact, due to his record over the season, infact no-one can disagree it isn't a fact.

My next point is and in answer to the "no-one could do better" bit, how do we know no-one could'nt do better, with out trying someone else. Try Gregor, try Carsley if thats all we can afford, and by getting rid of Thorn and Harrisson, as he must go also, we will be saving even more on the wages, hence pleasing lovely SISU at the same time. Its called a win win situation.

We have absolutely nothing to lose by trying them, and Carsley played at Premier level most of his career, so he must have learnt something along the way

On the face of it we really didn't deserve to lose that if we are all honest. It was a sucker punch.

However we lost the game in the first 20 minutes where we were terrible. Having to come from behind like we did.
That's where the manner of these defeats are down to two factors: The manager and the players. Both are at fault.

At this juncture there can be no doubt that these players even though they 'play for Thorn' would benefit from a change of manager. New belief and perhaps new ideas and tactical awareness would make all the difference to getting the best out of them.

Thorn has done his best. He has been hampered yes but even so, we have been in winning or at least points positions all season long.....never got thumped by anyone, yet frustratingly keep throwing that advantage away. That's the big question isn't it? Either Thorns naivety and tactical awareness has failed him or the players have simply not been good enough in certain positions. Like today we were winning 2-1 after coming from behind. Ipswich were 'allowed' to come roaring out the gate second half. That is where Thorn surely is lacking in getting the players to do their job more effectively? We should never had lost at home from 2-1 up at half time after kicking the opposition in the teeth coming back from one down and scoring right on half time? That should have been the stuffing knocked out of them and instead the start of the second half....well you get it.

A new guy whoever it is has a chance to throw the dice for nearly half a season and see if he can't get a run together. That can sometimes happen after a change. Not saying it will as it will depend on the guy we get in but at this stage we all must be aware that it will not improve any further under Thorn regardless. Reality id staring us in the face. I'm all for change and perhaps as importantly changing the coaching staff where I also have chimed on all season has been bad by my reconing and also hampered Thorn. Our players lack fitness in the final third of games - clearly seen. Harrison is a liability more so than Thorn.

So make a change and do it now. Even SISU can see the worth of keeping the supporters on board with at least acknowledgment and realisation that a new manager may, just may bring us some much needed new optimism. Nothing else will do it now.

I hope Andy Thorn is retained as Scout and in the coaching areas with the kids where i think he will be invaluable.

Names in the hat could be any one who is out of work. All have more experience than Thorn. That says a lot in itself. Grayson has done nothing wrong at Leeds and faced similar players sales and no incomings that Thorn has had? Then the list can be anyone you can think of who is available. From Warnock to Dowie any are worth a chance.

I dont think anyone is being unreasonable about AT, he seems a nice guy who is well liked amougst the fans, players and staff...But he was given the job for the wrong reasons, which in the end has cost the club dearly... I would also look at Harrison and Oggy as they seem to be getting away with all blame in the situation we are in... As for the games ive said before the first ball kicked we may compete in every game but without quality and depth we will not win enough games to make us safe,Its sadly being proved correct.

Don't really see what Oggy can do to influence the situation-I'd strongly question Harrison's input however.

If he needs a fitness coach, either make Harrison unemployed, or one of the other backroom staff. If Thorn went to SISU with, i want this , but i will get rid of this, idea they would surely go for it.
Harrison is a complete loser , get rid of him , do the coaching yourself and get a fitness bloke in.

Thorn has to take a fair share of blame, i can not for the life of me understand anyone who thinks Thorn is the best option and not culpable in the things that have happened.
If Thorn stood up for himself for once and got rid of Harrison , freeing up wages for a fitness coach, then that would help.

I dont ever recall Thorn talking about the lack of fitness/ fitness coach so I doubt this is his priority. If he has never addressed the issue, how are the board supposed to know what he needs? Remember SISU lack in the footballing world and the man in charge would be responsible for highlighting the need for additional staff.

There are various coaches out in the warm up who must be involved in the fitness side of things. On the club website, it lists Performance Analyst: Donald Barron
Assistant Performance Analyst: Paul Travis.

Surely one of these specialise in Fitness? or have some knowledge of the required fitness levels? Them along with the Physio (who has been in the game a fair amount of time) must surely know the required levels??
