Seriously, why are people typing "F OFF SISU" in the search box? Will that make them leave?

Are people writing I H8 SISU on their pencil case too?

People really need to get a bit of a grip with life! :jerkit:

Thought that Sisu stooge and negative was the standard argument used against anybody who isn't following the consensus?

The ex-Sisu stooges on here are rather like ex-smokers, evangelical in their new righteousness.

You can call The Lord a lot of things, but he was vehemently anti-SISU ages ago. He just enjoys playing Devil's Advocate-and is anti-Ranson too, and sticking to his guns. At least it provokes debate, although sometimes a few pages too many of it perhaps.

The problem is why people took the volumes they did, having you take 8 means others will go without, people taking boxes of them and looking proud of it were embarrassing themselves, I've got no problem with people taking a couple of them, but people were walking out with 20+, people need to gain a bit of self control and only take what they need.

Nah the staff couldn't give them away quick enough. No-one has gone without. (not in corporate anyway) I'll admit taking 20+ is a bit rediculous, but I spread mine out amongst the family.

My thoughts too, people with special needs are not there to be compared with someone who you think is or has posted something a bit odd and there will be people who post on here with or has a reletive with special needs, you should apologise.

Special needs simply means someone who has different requirements to the norm. It includes the very bright, the very stupid and those with physical disabilities that have no impact on their mental capacity.

I'm sure there are plenty of more worthy things to be outraged about than someone's turn of phrase on the internet.

People that are offended by Nick's post should really read the whole thing. Take note of his last sentence. I have gone to the liberty of quoting this for you that take offense.

I find it funny that people who are offended by this type of comment are never the "concerned/affected", but busy body prats who haven't got enough in their lives to keep themselves busy with their own business.

Sorry but i work with special needs young people and none of them deserve to be used in comparason with anybody. They are people in their own right.

True enough, think I should have just booked in for the 10 minute argument, rather than the full session!

I think I have Dyslexia. That makes me special needs, compare me to who you like. Do you use glasses Eleanor? If you do that would make you special needs too.

Do people really get offended so easily?

A fair question. Usually defined as "what everyone else gets by with". There's a fair argument that everyone has some kind of special need. The PC term these days I believe is additional need anyway. As in someone who needs more than the average.

To answer your question: the norm has full mobility, fully functioning senses and an intelligence no more than two standard deviations from the norm (in the mathematical sense - so two deviations from 100 IQ points as by definition that's the average IQ)

But we all know what the average persons view of a special needs person is and it isn't someone with a limp or a finger missing is it.

Err yes it is. A woman at work needs a filter on her monitor to take away the reflection. I'd say she has special needs and is therefore a special needs person.
