Distasteful Nuneaton town tweet (1 Viewer)

I need to hear KCIC's views on this before I decide whether to get angry or not. If they don't put out a response by 7pm tonight we can only assume they support the comment made by Nuneaton and are in fact Nuneaton Town fans.

It was silly, but not really newsworthy is it.

I'm sure we've all done things in our lives we regret. Can we just move on?

Plus, if as someone posted on the match thread that a fan went to throw a punch at a steward because he wouldn't let him on the pitch, shouldn't we be berating those types of people, and not someone who's taken to twitter to put up a silly tweet?

Yes it was probably fun (I'll be honest,mi could see fook all, mainly because I wear glasses which were obviously wet but also the rain was mental!!) but i,m sure any fan injured while being a prat would have been the first to put in a compo claim against Nuneaton had they got injured when playing in the water

Stop being so stuck up. I thought any new publicity for our position would be welcome (unless you like playing in Northampton).

Stuck up , no mate ...that is just not the way for a clubs representative to act , that's pretty obvious , already condoned the actions of the minority

Distasteful tweet against a group of fans that have done more to help NTFC than any others over the years.

I was at the game , saw several people doing klinsmans and what not , fine , call those individuals out as idiots , instead they have upset quite a lot of normal fans

Fans who are upset by this really don't have a clue. We were singing all the way through "We've got more fans than you" and "nuneatons a shit hole" but when one comment goes on twitter everyone goes up In arms. I think we need to lighten up, if we don't give it out and encourage these comments they won't happen

I'm sorry football fans have banter , an official media representative of a football club that tweets something as unprofessional as that ...is a twat

Fuck me we all got that wet after paying an extra 2 quid to sit in the rickety stand watched a drab game of football ... It was the best part of the day.

And before anyone asks No I didn't go on the pitch too old to run now..................:)

So using the same logic then, do the stewards and police need to "lighten up" when people try and get on the pitch? After all its only banter and doesn't hurt anyone.

I had the misfortune many years ago to be at Nuneaton when they beat Swansea in the FA Cup round one or similar.

In obvious ecstasy at winning such a game, as they dont get that far often, their fans invaded the pitch, and it was awash with stone wash jeans and mullet hair cuts, a sight not to behold.

Its funny I dont remembered some sad club official saying their fans had no sense of respect when that happened, funny old world isn't it.

You looked knackered enough just doing the few steps you had to to get to your seat ;)

I suppose they have a point but no need to use stupid social media. One day we shall be back one day and show them

Just ignore it crappy little club, even if I could have made the game today I wouldn't go and give them a penny. Our fans fund the first few weeks of their season every year they should be the next NOPM!

I don't care about that tweet, it's more the Nuneaton fans who are getting on their high horse after they beat a side with 7 youth players in it 1-0 for one half and are gloating. It's so tinpot it's horrible.

Their players on twitter are no better! Trying to get a reaction out of coventry fans, didn't realise there was this sort of hatred between the 2 clubs

I guess we are the equivalent to them as the villa are to us. Not been in the same league for years but still need someone to hate and they happen to be local, so we choose them

You can tell the club isn't professional, could never imagine our twitter page tweet stuff like that or our players tweeting for a reaction

Let's just for one second imagine if the football league tweeted that very tweet in regards to fans storming the pitch to do a klinsman lol , the whole club would be up in arms , I suppose we can just brush aside the views of our 6 fingered neighbours

Or people could just have a day off being angry about everything and anything and lighten up and take it for what it was?

It's a cheap dig. It's unproffesional for an official club feed really. Not sure it's worth getting upset over though.

Is this for real? I read this yesterday and thought it was a joke but now I read it on Monksies site. How embarrassing some fans make us feel about their sensitivity.

If they were poking fun at illnesses or death then it's understandable to be sensitive but to respond to a joke thread in this manner makes me think who these fans are. The most ironic thing about this is that these threads are true. We have no ground and this could be a league game next season.
