Speak for yourself, I wanted to stay at Highfield Road personally the only place I will ever call our home and I know that's an opinion shared by my family and many of my friends. "They wanted it to be the new National Stadium" just an example of the nonsense..

Ah yes who could forget Bryan Richardson - wish I could.

Yes. Your incessant "balance" has meant its hard to know what the fuck you actually think.

How about you answer a simple question: do you think this is OK?

I don't really know all of the facts and what was agreed. If the charity have done nothing wrong at all then of course it is out of order.

How have they caused this?

By changing their mind about giving away a large part of their regeneration plans for North Coventry or by changing their mind about screwing a local charity or perhaps even by realising that what's being suggested is in fact far closer to state aid than what's been brought up in the JR.

I'm assuming you're a resident of Coventry. As such, how much more are you willing to pay in council tax to fund these plans you're cheering? Or which services shall we cut? Maybe social services can take a cut so your favourite hedge fund gets richer? (let remember it's still far from proven this outcome will even benefit the club)

Come on, you're so cavalier about "smashing the council" how do you want to pay for it?

as long as it gets club back who cares? gotta take the chance.

i dont know how it affected services, just love the club enough to take risk

And this is where we can find out. Was (& how was) the Higgs deal agreed & did CCC pull out & under what basis? Bring it out in court.

And for all of the "suing a kid's charity" talk, the charity seems to do enough suing of it's own (e.g. Northampton Town).

See that club you love.

Let's say (and this is all legal and possible) that Sisu get the freehold by smashing the council and try then mortgage the Ricoh to the hilt, take the cash and leave City with an enormous mortgage to pay (almost certainly higher than the previous rent).

Would you still be cheering?

Whatever SISU are accusing them off I guess as they would have the right to sue them? I don't know if they have or haven't. If they haven't done anything it is out of order but if they have does it make it ok because they are a charity?

We need some kind of self marking quiz that you have to pass to post in these topics. I have no issue with different opinions, but it's pointless if people don't grasp the basic facts.

I've seen people post that the council can do what they like with ACL cos yet own it. That the Higgs Center and the Higgs Charity are the same organisation, etc. If you don't get that stuff it's easy to go off half cocked.

So as long as it's legal, it's moral. Got ya. Makes sense of a lot of your thoughts to be honest (not judging) and many of those with a similar view.

Does being a charity entitle you to do things wrong though? (I am not saying they have). If the charity have done nothing wrong then there should be some sort of compensation towards the charity I think.

Pleased to see you finally realise that SISU aren't the Club. People who go to Sixfields are supporting CCFC not SISU.

Sisu arent the club-- Coventry and its people are the club. I didnt mention the council, but they are at least voted in, and are accountable and all parties have taken a stance- I guess that is democracy, right?

There will be court costs. That's it.

I'm just a bit saddened to see people fall for the "no smoke without fire" tactic so often.

Now your defending yourself and people have the thought in the back of their mind. This has been Sisu's style since day one.

I don't see today as evidence of anything other than Joy really did threaten to tie everyone up in legal costs if she didn't get what she wants.

I think that's a subversion of the legal system and I think it's wrong. Maybe not illegal at the moment, but wrong.

They might do it, they might not. New owners might do it, they might not. Can't see why we need to get outraged by something that hasn't happened.

I did say it would be totally wrong IF the Higgs hadn't done anything wrong, of course it would be wrong but the charity must have been expecting some sort of fight about the money by taking them to court (again, I don't know what was agreed about the fees before hand).

This is not me saying that the charity shouldn't get money owed, of course it should if it was agreed.

Charities have a legal obligation to pursue money owed to them I believe.

To be honest even if SISU hadn't agreed to it before hand they should have just put their hand in their pocket and given Higgs the £30K that they left them out of pocket. The rate SISU are burning through money it would make no differnce and might actually have given them some good PR but no, their preferred option is back into court and legal fees all round.

Of course they need to get money if they are owed it. I guess the argument is "who's fault is it that it fell through".

It does usually help to read all of the thread before posting to be fair I think Moff's few posts about it being sarcasm also gave it away a little bit but it just shows that people translate things how they want to.

What a stupid comment and that will sound rich coming from the bloke who put stupid in stupidity, but really? The facts to this tireless and ridicilous situation are muddy, unclear and confusing to state that you shouldn't be able to post on these topics without the clear facts should leave us all of these threads.
