Looks like there may be a points deduction for West Brom in the offing too.

West Brom say they have not broken EFL financial rules as points deduction fears grow

The club, who are two points above the Championship relegation zone, say they are compliant with the EFL’s profitability and sustainability rules
www.theguardian.com

How perfect would this season be if we won the league and both Leicester and West Brom are relegated??

Does anyone give a shit about Albion? I don't, and they don't us

And it doesn't affect us at all, took 6 points off them, wont be in the same league

As long as they don't dock West Brom, and somehow Leicester manage to escape at their expense. The team that got a derisory points deduction in the first place!

West Brom offend me the least but they still have that kind of West Midlands arrogance of the other clubs in the area. Gormless fans who think their club is enormous. I'd like them to go as long as it is with Leicester rather than instead of.

Surely you can’t be deducting points this late into the season

Is it likely to happen any time soon? Look how long the Leicester debacle dragged on for. Only 4 games of the season left. Surely any sanctions now will be for next season? Highly unlikely anything will be done now between now and the end of this season?

Only in the sense that Leicester may benefit from any points deduction. 1 or 2 points could save them.

Do they have to give them time to appeal?!
It won't be this season if it happens - much to the dismay of others around them.

I only care about Leicester going down… don’t mind the Baggies. Certainly prefer them to Wolves. But it might be about time we started looking upwards.

Deduction, if it happens, will more likely be applied next season.

Leicester's only dragged on as they deliberately delayed the investigation in the hope of surviving in the Prem and so getting any points deduction this season. Went really well...

It's outrageous that they could be deducted points this late in the season. Whatever you do or dont think of them, there needs to be a cut-off point whilst they've still got time to affect the outcome.

TBF to them they historically have spent 81 years of their existence in the top flight, second only to Villa in the Midlands. They're a far bigger club than Birmingham for example.

More detail here- likely to be between 2-4 pts if applied. I'd back them to finish with more points than Leicester if it was even 6 pts. Also mad that the EFL have had the accounts since 31/12/25 but are only now getting round to this. The use of the phrase 'guidelines' regarding when the deduction would be applied is very wishy washy too- implies not binding and the EFL do have wiggle room about which season it'll land.

West Brom say they have fully complied with P&S rules

West Bromwich Albion insist they have "fully complied" with EFL's profit and sustainability rules after reports they could face a points deduction

Just been reported on local BBC news, saying it will be done this season. (I'm sure I heard it right? Only half listening.)

Most clubs’ financial year-end is June, with corresponding accounts released in March of the following year. It really feels like the EFL are being made to wait until they’re published - just change the rules so they have to submit a copy to the EFL within 6 months of year-end/end of the calendar year. EFL have 1 month to bring charges. Failure to submit is an immediate 3 point deduction plus another 3 points for each month that passes. They can also bring charges on late accounts but March is the cut-off for the season, so if someone delays release til after then they’re having a 9 point deduction plus a likely points penalty the following season.

I worked there as a steward (and at St Andrews) when I was a teenager and I’ve never been treated more like a piece of shit than I was by the intellectually-challenged, coked up, chain smoking, toothless pricks that support that club. Fuck them and the XL Bully’s they rode in on.

Yeah I was at that one. Seem to remember that we were 3 or 4 down at half time, and a typically adventurous Milne took off a defender and threw on an extra forward?
