Lots of talk about what will be the head coach role. Less about the seemingly likely DoF role. Just as important. Any noise on the runners and riders for this?

Are we actually getting a director of football?

The way it came across someone asked the question and King replied that's a great idea, I doubt it had even seriously crossed his mind before that point.

I'm not expecting one any time soon, maybe 6-12 months down the line possibly.

Yes he confirmed that the appointment of a Sporting Director was part of his plan to enable him to step away from the club more than he is able to today.

Maybe an elder statesman of the game with a massive amount of experience and knowledge.
Quite who is anyone's guess, maybe someone in the mould of David Moyes?

Didn't Wise do something similar at Newcastle under Ashley?

I remember the hoo-ha (that’s right I said ‘hoo-ha’) at Pompey when Redknapp was manager and they got a DoF in. He was none too pleased. Until that is they got in Avram Grant that is and they seemed to get on really well.
Im not saying we should get Avram Grant in but a quick check tells me he’s the manager of Zambia…

Just read that! I either didn’t know or forgot all about it. Maybe if we got him and Rooney in…

Chief Deck Director, unveiled as none other than Vince McMahon.

That would be entertaining.

Given that DK is amazed that someone dared to suggest we need midfield additions... I'm going for another double act, both are good with any 'deck'. and can produce something out of nothing. Penn and Teller.

There’s a chap called Mark Robins that might do well as Director of Football. Left his last role under a bit of a cloud, but if we could get a quality head coach to go with him it might work.
