Just been watching Match of the day and saw Tim Howard score a goal from a drop goal-kick. At the end of the piece, Hansen and Lawrenson said he was only the 4th goalkeeper to have done so. Hansen then went on to name them. He didn't mention Steve Oggy. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure Oggy scored from a goal kick once? Was I imagining it?

They said fourth goalkeeper in the Premier League, so from 1992 onward really. Oggy scored against Sheffield Wednesday I believe, mid 80s.

4 Premier League ones.

Ogrizovic did score, but in the mid 80s, before the Premier League was formed.

Don't forget, football was only invented in 1992, so Oggy's didn't count

Was going to post similar but far too verbose to get over my dislike of SKY and the prem for eradicating the previous history of the game from the annals ,got to four lines last time and wiped it ,is this how religion died.

They just done a quick report on Sky News - again, saying only the 4th goalie to score like this "in the Premier League". Why can't they say "Top Flight Football"? That would cover the Prem and old Div 1. Cov were in the "Top Flight" for 34 years!!

I recall seeing the name Ogrizovic on Teletext back in the day when he scored against Martin Hodge I think it was, in the Sheffield Wednesday goal.

Some of you may also recall Steve Sherwood of Watford scoring from a goal kick against us when we had Raddy Avramovich in goal. We lost 3-2 and I think it was after this game Gould publicly sacked Avramovich.

Nothing there now, unless it's been moved elsewhere.

There used to be another one I liked that had fake facts about the squad, I remember Marc Edworthy's profile revealing he had a crippling fear of Ryvita.

James McPake is terrified of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, everytime he has a mouthful he thinks he's broken something and ends up out for half a season.

Oggys goal

Steve Ogrizovic's only goal for Coventry City came against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on 25 October 1986

Blimey! The Park Lane! I remember it when it was Mr Georges as well. He (George) gave me a lift in his Rolls once. I was waiting at the bus stop by the Coundon pub with my ex-missus and he drove by. He stopped when he saw us coz my missus worked as his secretary / accountant in the club. The look on peoples faces when we got in his car! Priceless!

Going off topic (sorry) but I met the future Mrs Scam at Mr Georges in early 1987 - 25 years and two Jnr Scams later we're still together in the same house!
