I was at the game , didnt see the incident as i was looking at the ref to give the foul on reda in the first place .
just watched some highlights , cant see the full incident but no connection was made , anybody there see it in full
being sent off for pushing your head forward with no connection must be like being jailed for gbh after a missed punch

In this day and age, pushing your head forward into someones face counts as a headbutt whether there is a connection or not.

I wasn't there but seen as SP or Reda haven't kicked off about it and reda actually aplogised then I trust it was the correct decision.

Fair play to the player who didn't go down rolling around. Certainly would of happened in the premier league.

I always think if you are going to get sent off for it anyway you may as well do it properly. Don't get sent off for swearing at the ref or trying to kiss their player, put in a decent tackle to get the crowd going.

Better when it is for stopping a goal scoring opportunity, taking their best player out, taking a cocky player (Bellamy Style) out than for a mid air headbutt or swearing at the ref though.

Samo thats my opinion on it , but regardless we move on , the most dissapointing thing about the whole thing is the referee should have blown for the foul on johnson by taylor that led to the fracas , the ref was appalling first half tbh

Ungentlemanly conduct has been redesignated unsporting behaviour and is a yellow card offence. Violent conduct is a red card offence. There doesn't have to be contact, so if you swing a punch and miss, it is still a red card. There isn't much doubt that what Johnson did was correctly seen as violent conduct. He can have no complaints and should also receive a club fine for his sheer stupidity in my view.

Todays football is for cheats and ponces, that's why someone brushing their head on another player constitutes a red card as does many other equally weak contact incidents. He should have known better you are right, the rules are what they are in 2014 !

No excuses, stick your head in a players face you run the risk of being sent off. Disappointing from an experienced player and club captain who should be leading by example? It followed what appears to be some routine shirt pulling.

But these things happen, Reda hasn't got form for it, so let's move on. Any repeat would be more worrying.

Makes me wonder If oppo managers have done some homework on him ,same against Yeovil on Saturday ,the little blond fella was like a wasp around him all day .

From my observations up to now It seems the tactic of choice seems to be "See what you can get away with " re the referees we've had In the last two.

Suspect It may be a good ploy do a lot of Diving ,swamping the Ref much like Norwich and Southampton did In their dual promotion seasons ,time for less of the nice guys..
