The apparent mystery of why Coleman dropped Ward and wouldn't let him near the matchday squad for months on end?? What did he do to fall out of favour so badly...Mrs Coleman??

Can't be that, Coleman was rattling a hair dresser for years behind his missus back. Think it was genuinely pig-headed arrogance on the part of Coleman.

When you remember that he brought back Hall when he was well past his best whilst EW was kicking his heels with the youth lads, you do scrstch your head and wonder what CC was playing at. Especially as our wasn't exactly watertight at the time (then again, when was it ever??)

Yeah I remember this being odd at the time. I heard a few years back that Ward was on the sniff fairly regularly while with us, no idea if this had any bearing on him being dropped though or even if Coleman knew about it.

If anyone listened to the Magic Sponge podcasts with Jimmy Bullard he regularly told stories about working with Chris Coleman, to say Coleman is an 'interesting' character is putting it mildly.

Chris Coleman has an interesting track record...apparently. But there's been a number of stories re iffy goings on at City over the years. Spparrntly John Aloisi was moved out of the club for "non football reasons" !! As was one of the cup-final team ! Just rumours though.

Skip to 28:00 in this podcast and there is a bit on Chris Coleman's character. There's more in some of the other episodes I think but this is one I can find.

I always remember Coleman looking fairly rough as he disembarked (stumbled) off the coach before the Scunthorpe game which was on Sky...
