At least they didn't appoint McClaren - but I cannot see this ending well for them!

And David Milliband resigns over Di Canios fascist politics. A politician with some principles perhaps?
At least we're not the only club in a mess.

Because they're panicking and on the verge of losing £60 million?

We've already lost that, so, we're cool.

I think it took a lot longer than that. I wouldn't be surprised if the board arrived at the decision to bin MON and made contact with PDC before the international break. With your manager leaving the way he did, the board can't be expected to have foreseen it.

Disaster looms...Sunderland to undo the excellent anti-effort that Villa are making to stay up.

Would sooner see the Villa to drop but I think they'll overtake Sunderland now...

Even when we sacked Thorn though it still took us about 5 weeks to appoint Robins

Sometimes a manager takes a while to find. Why they didn't hoof Thorn out in the summer I don't know. It would've made things much easier.

See David Milliband, South Shields MP, has resigned as a SAFC director in protest at the self-proclaimed fascist being made manager.

While I do think that PDC is a prat, I think that this is posturing by Millibland - either that or a pointless April Fool's joke by the BBC or Sunderland

Seeing that David Milliband has resigned his position at Sunderland, due to the appointment of Di Canio, I wondered if he would have created a similar feeling if he'd have been appointed CCFC manager?

For me, I would have found it difficult supporting the club with a self confessed fascist at the club.

Ah the moral debate about footballing success. it was the similar situation when Gaddaffi's cousin (or whoever it was) was going to buy our club, whether it was true or not would you want someone like that running your club.

I think with PDC, he is a risk regardless as he is unproven at that level but his temperament is the biggest issue. Premiership players wont take that shit.

At least we don't have to worry about them signing clarke to solve their goal scoring issues

He's probably scored more goals than the entire Sunderland team who played vs Utd.

Disagree. Miliband has shown some integrity here. Mind you, he wasn't going to be very involved anyway since he's off to New York.

Di Canio signed Clarke for Swindon then forced him out just a couple of weeks later after they fell out.

Yes, but maybe that wasn't their aim?
