Still dont think he will be coming to us, but at least we now know he is not going back to swindon.

'Swindon Town have been forced to change the locks at the County Ground after former manager Paolo Di Canio went into the manager's office at night and tore down photos of his successful reign at the club.'

They should consider offering him it just till the summer.

To galvanise the players.

Then see how nuts he is before making a more permanent decision.

Managers can't just resign and straight away get another management job - I'm pretty sure there will be an anti-competitor clause in s contract and either us or di Canio would have to pay them compensation otherwise managers would just get tapped up and resign to avoid any compensation being paid for them.

Many of us sign an anti-competitor clause as part of our Contract. However, it's a restraint of trade and never been tested legally and it's thought it has no basis for enforcement.
Anyway, football seems not to follow the established rules so al'sl fair in Luton and Walsall.!!!

I don't actually know what he is saying to be fair.

Is he claiming his contract is null and void due to the circumstances.

Wait, I thought that sort of thing happens all the time....Mark Robins springs to mind?

Forget it though, he has got his sights on bigger fish than us...I heard Huddersfield may soon be in the market for a new manager

That was different although Robins forced it through huddlesfield had to agree compensation to allow them permission to speak to robins. He didn't just resign then join them for free. If you could just resign and join someone for free managers and players would do it all the time, which. Is different to forcing through a move or handing in a transfer request.

Di canio would be a truly mental choice for us even short term - would he inspire the players to over achieve now when it matters or who he just turn it all into a big circus - anyone's guess - it would be an interesting experiment but not with my club please

He did well with Swindon, got them to top of the league! Wouldn't be an 'experiment' at all, it would be a good choice of manager, to hopefully, take us forward.

I think the gamble is that he is nuts.

But for a few months he would give the squad a lift. Then they can weigh up just how mental he is.

It could be, but, I think the board would no doubt adopt their style if they appointed him, to volatile a character to shaft, if they treated I'm like MR, who got everything he wanted really, they'd get on ok.

The situation with the stadium really doesn't need a loud mouth shouting about, possibly stoking the fire! At the start of the season wen we had low morale, it might of been a good idea as I do believe he can galvanize a squad, but I don't think that's what we need now. In all honesty we need some one like mark robins, quiet, but gets on with the job. Id like Owen Coyle or martin Allen, don't think either will happen though..

Di Canio is a bit more than motivator, he got Swindon up to the top of the table.

:laugh: What a nutter! But he obviously takes things very seriously and has immense passion for management, otherwise he wouldn't have carried out such an impulsive act right!

I know he's a bit mental right, but I'd still be well up for having him at CCFC. We'd get much more press coverage and interest. And he's proved himself to be a good manager at Swindon. Get him in. Would make a refreshing change to read stories of silly antics coupled with league success as opposed to the same old, same old of the Ricoh row!

He resigned on the grounds that his position was untenable, which would make it very difficult to enforce any form of compensation especially if they accepted the resignation.

Therefore in my opinion would be a free agent now.
