Totally understood him starting if EMC was carrying a knock but taking Simms off and keeping Wright on was weird

Probably because EMC and Simms will play against Sunderland and Wright will be on the bench.

Big wright fan but he was terrible. Can only assume he stayed on to get him fitter as we never looked like taking anything from the game.

Bidwell very bad. Grimes, Thomas, Kitching, Dovin all poor.

The right hand side of saka and Milan actually had good games but that was it.

Maybe our Frank isn't the master tactical technician because leaving Wright on was criminal as was Wrights criminal performance, if he wants to get match time into him stick him in the unders or something, Bidwell just about everything he done was awful even trying to control the ball near the touchline he kicked it out of play...Derby wanted it we didn't !!

It's been obvious for a couple of seasons that we need a decent left back, on par with the quality of MvE on the right. Bidwell and JDS are "play every now and then when you don't have any other choice" kind of players.

Bidwell is getting worse, the contract extension seems a little hasty now.

Left back number 1 priority in the summer. Bidwell was exposed but he won't be thanking Haji who couldn't be arsed to help him out at all. Need a good left back behind EMC, then it's nicely balanced with MVE/Saka one side with MVE regen left back/EMC on the other. Wright doesn't play again until he shows hes really up for it in a few sub appearances, have to earn the right

Agree what did he see..surely he needs to explain plain barmy decisions.

Im sure even Haji is totally embarrased of himself. It was like hes never seen a football.

Pretty much dreadful throughout, don't think Frank will be very impressed with that performance, we were miles off it last night.
Let's hope it's not repeated on Saturday.

Very poor performance against a patently poor team. We played with no urgency and got what we deserved. Bidwell and Haji had particularly awful games. Only MVE, Eccles & Saka did ok, but even then I would only rate them as a 6.

People keep talking about Haji but surely it’s not his job in this system but one of the midfielders? The 442 defensive shape would have him and Simms as the front 2

I'd have Adams here, stick him at CM and we'd fly.

100% would love a player like Adams, running all over and adding proper steel to the midfield.

It was Haji’s first start in 4-5 months, it will take time to build the sharpness back. I doubt he would’ve started had it not been for EMCs injury.

I did find it odd that he took Simms off because if the master plan is to get crosses in the box… why did take off our main aerial threat?

We put ourselves under constant pressure by sloppy passing and bad clearances. It was a bad game to be a forward because they were feeding off scraps.

Anyway, I’m over it and happy to give the benefit of doubt that is one of those banana skins that we slipped on. Like Stoke beating us 4-0 in 22/23.

Birdwell shocking.

We were never going to win every game but a pretty disappointing performance.

Still in a Derby MacDonalds. At least that's OK.

Was it against Burger King?

This was one of Bidwell`s worst performances for the club. He gave away a silly freekick which lead to the goal and the Deby right wing back had the beating of him every time. He struggled against Oxford too and it seems that the opposition specifically target the left back area and it has resulted in 2 goals being conceded against both Oxford and Derby, who are 2 of the worst teams in the division.

He’s been rubbish most of the season. People just have Dasilva Derangement and it’s made them think he’s a scouse Roberto Carlos

Wright needs to make massive improvements otherwise he’ll not be selected for the USA team for next year’s World Cup.

Bidwell was bad, but he kept trying as bad as he was he kept bloody trying.
Wright on the other hand didn’t look like he gave a shit. He walked around pulling his shirt sleeves down, and occasionally straightening his shirt. He wasn’t going to do anything last night, his mind was made up.
I don’t care if he hasn’t played much for a few months,he has trained. He could run around and get in the way if nothing else.
