6 home games, we’ve performed for about 2.5 of them. Away from home we’ve had one good 90 minutes at Boro, a good half at PNE and a good half at Watford.

That is just not going to cut it for survival, never mind anything better. Fuck signings for profit, get leaders into that dressing room in January or this side is going down.

We do need to sign a couple if senior pros in January

If we get out of that 2-2 a lot of the scores given would be a point or two higher and we arguably should have. Not that we were great by any stretch but I thought Derby were poor too and we should have had a penalty. That push on EMC was directly in front of us, ref had a great view of it too and it was clearly two hands on his back. Couldn't believe when we got in the car Oggy saying not enough to go down. They'd have been at a different angle and no way he doesn't go down there.

We were the better side before the red card tbf. We actually played worse vs 10 than we were playing against 11 until the final 20 minutes.

The question wasn’t why did we start assertively against Middlesborough. It was in response to a comment that said “we never” start assertively. I was just pointing out that we literally did 4 days ago, regardless of any aiding factors.

Not sure how MVE is getting such high ratings, he was absolutely dreadful again, did PSV make a bid for him in the end? I can only think he's unhappy being here as he was fantastic last season. I would definitely drop him if we had cover.

VAR would definitely have given a penalty for that, without any doubt

And how Thomas got penalised for the Derby player flattening him in the penalty area in the first half, I have absolutely no idea.

Eccles - 6: Always tries, gives a shit. His corners were actually pretty fucking good. A good barometer for whether the others are doing the basics. They weren’t:

All the other starters 5.

Subs - 6. Thought Mason-Clarke looked dangerous but didn’t get released properly. Dasilva always good on the ball. Torp made us look more dangerous.

Looked really poor until the change of shape and subs.
Sakamoto seemed lost in that central position, much better suited on the wing.
Dasilva was lively, Mason-Clark looked more confident on the ball but still doesn't look like he's got the pace to beat a man

Baffles me that people can go on about how bad it was in the match thread and still give everyone 5s, 6s and 7s. That would imply we played average to semi-good. We were terrible, no-one who started should be scoring higher than a 5 at absolute maximum.

I mean more with the timing really. We only ever seen to make changes at the pre-planned time. Realistically we were at sea for a very long time. So much of the game had been lost.
If he did the changes at half time we would have won the game! The last 15 minutes or so were quite good as we were moving the ball quicker and JDS and EMC was starting to get balls in behind them. Their backs were having to to do diving headers to defend.

Eccles being a shit sideways merchant but it’s ok because he’s High on statistics for simple one-yard forward/sideward passes and scored 1 goal in about 2 seasons and assisted probably not much more

But it’s ok because he’s from Cov innit xoxo

Never a pen though, it's getting silly. Its a contact sport, I'd have been fuming if a ref gave that against us.

It was the assault on Thomas with their player jumping on him in the box and then the ref gives them a free kick 100% a penalty

Edit... just seen Otis mentioned this too

Eccles played a number of forward balls last night and made some good, accurate cross field passes.

You must have been at a different game.

We must have been watching a different game, JDS as Nick says, max 5 but more like the rest of the gang a non descript 4

That was the far end from us so if that's true then arguably 2, but the EMC 100% also from our perfect angle. And I'm always pretty fair about them to say eg if we can't see it or I'm not sure, to give benefit of the doubt. What surprised me was the refs clear view too from the exact opposite side.

If I'm being honest we should have switched formation after 20 minutes and pushed binks into left back and rudoni back into midfield , we could have done that without making subs

It's funny as I actually said this to my friend last night.

It was glaringly obvious it wasn't working after the first 10 minutes and that we'd have no chance of getting anything out of the game.

Most didn't seem to even understand their role and Derby's press meant that we couldn't string more than three passes together.

Just play players in their best positions.
MVE and Saka both came to life and sparked the team when Saka was moved wide right.
Play Wright on the left, he does little down the middle.
Rudi isn't a wing back. JDS is.
Play Torp no 10 where he can pass and shoot.

If Thomas had a going to control play then we may as well have Kitching there as he will at least break out, I hate three at the back against defensive teams it’s so negative

If Torp had been fully fit, I am sure that's what MR would have done

The time being 60 minutes as usual. The only thing that will have surprised the opposition’s coaches is that there was also a shape change.

Who knows. Robins still seems to not know his best 11 and their best positions.

I've no idea why Robins never reacts quickly to switch things up. Managers such as SAF Mourinho Klopp Slot weren't afraid to drag players off and change formation in the first half if things were glaringly not working. This is a major issue in my opinion

To be fair to Sakamoto, Warne had clearly instructed Adams to stick on him and effectively do little else and it worked.

It was a poor tactical decision by Robins to put him in the middle, he's never looked comfortable there.

Lack of motivation is a huge problem with this team.
Night game, good crowd, winning run and we start flat as a pancake, so slow and lethargic, clueless as to what the plan is.
I'm not sure Robin's quiet brooding moody style helps motivate this group.
Imagine Sir Alex in with them...

I do agree he is way more effective on the right but he did literally score the goal from a very central position. Granted he was playing more on the right by that point but it shows he can pick it up centrally and be effective / score.

Your logic doesn't logic I'm afraid. Scoring a goal centrally doesn't equate to him being an effective midfielder.

Everyone 0
Saka 1 for scoring should of been on the wing not in the hole.
Robins 0 needs to learn to change things quicker
Spoke to a Derby fan in pub before game and said you will get your first away win tonight as we like helping teams out on a bad run.
I think the players just thought they needed to turn up to win.

Dovin: 6 - Didn't really have too much to do and wouldn't really say he could've done any better with either goal.
MVE: 4 - Was probably a 3 in the first half. Looked lost, would leave so much space in behind when he attempted at driving forward and could barely make a simple pass. Once Sakamoto moved to the right he was better and managed to put a couple of good balls into the box. He's just not a RWB really.
Binks: 6 - Tried to push forward in the second half but very little options available. Other than that fine.
Thomas: 6 - Thought he was pretty good and when they were 2 on 1 he handled it brilliantly. Like the others he didn't really have much else to deal with though.
Lati: 5 - Thought he looked shaky at times but was fine on the whole.
Rudoni: 3 - Awful back pass. Didn't even look up to see if there was danger. Dreadful going forward as well. Would often pivot looking for a safer pass which massively slowed down play. Please stop playing players in positions they're unfamiliar with. Improved slightly late on in the second half.
Sheaf: 5 - Couldn't really get on the ball to dictate play or progress up the pitch. Some of his passes were a bit sloppy.
Eccles: 6 - Thought he was fine. Tried to look for forward passes and carry the ball forward but there was just no options really available.
Sakamoto: 5 - Not really his fault. He isn't a CAM and Warne had Adams stuck to him like bees on honey so he couldn't really do much. Was muscled out of the game. Better when he was moved over to the right. Gets an extra point for the goal as was taken well.
Wright: 3 - Poor and anonymous throughout and looked very lethargic. Not a central striker. Please keep him on the left. Gets a point shaved off as he fundamentally should've done far better with the chances he had.
BTA: 4 - A lot of running around with very little end product. Can't really say much else.

Subs: Thought Torp and EMC looked lively when they came on.
Robins: Shocking tactically, completely wrong formation, put too many square pegs in round holes. Changes in all honesty came too late. Should've been made at HT, not on 61 minutes.
