Right, I know many of you are new to association football and have only been watching the game for a very short while, but just to let you know, a match lasts 90 mins plus added on time.

Looking back at this match thread, you would have said we were certainties for relegation.

Anyway, we were the better team the whole game and only wobbled when they got that 3rd goal, which looked to me, like a miss hit.

Lots and lots of posts calling for FL to change things around, but we did constantly look dangerous and obviously now it's been proved the manager was right to leave things as they were.

Defensively, it's still a worry, but if we can keep on scoring goals at the other end, we'll be fine

Funnily enough, conceding loads with a shit defence but trying to score more at the other end was a tactic of Tony Mowbray, that season didnt end well.....

Not sure what to think about that...insane, unbelievable, bonkers, all 3 ??
Having led twice, then going 3-2 down, i could feel that inevitable black cloud of depression starting to form...'typical city' i thought.
Then in 7 mad minutes, we were 4-3 up...on top of the world wooo hooo, and as if that wasn't enough, Torp then rifles another into the corner of the net, to imho, get the MoM award and our 5th goal.
Yet despite the great win, i have some niggles.
Rushworth looked shaky when ANY cross came in, Dasliva gave the ball away alot, and BTA, despite the goal, looked ineffective.
Even Bobby Thomas had a mad game, scoring with a front post header, then giving away a ridiculous penalty.
Rudoni wasn't really in the game either, which is also a worry.
But despite all that, we still scored 5.
MAD game.

Yeah, true. We definitely need to tighten up at the back for sure

Some poor goals conceded today

Crazy game. The right result. We found some clinical play in their box at last. But we were awful defensively. We’ve got to sort that. JDS is goals against straight away and puts us into so much trouble. Really good from Grimes, BTA, and EMC today.

Great performance that. We were the better team throughout so god knows how we were losing at one point. Showed some bollocks after coming back when it felt like everything was going against us

Torp was immense today and deserved his goal (unlucky bit to have another with that disallowed one). Lampards turned him into a quality midfielder

Great result.
Fair play. Once we went 3-2 down we went into full control mode although I think we dominated throughout, just gifting silly moments to them.

The tales of Bobby Thomas. Moments of brilliance tangled in with moments of calamity. Some dodgy moments from Rushworth too but a cracking 3 points and we move on….

Team looked sharp. We do need a new CB because if we can cut out these errors it would be more comfortable.

Imagine being a Derby fan. Excited for the new season. Played 2, lost 2, bottom and conceded 8 in the first two!

I think Brau has to just be thrown in soon. Tired of JDS/Bidwell debate. Both poor.

Yeah. After 2 games they aren’t going to storm the league. Idiots. Have promoted teams forgotten the gulf between L1 and the Champ? I think Ipswich going back to back and skewed it

Couldn't of asked for a better Championship welcoming for them. Long may teams keep giving them such a warm welcome.
Welcome them.in the front door and usher them straight through the house and out the back door! See ya!

Even if we do sign another centre half, it won’t tighten up that back four, all over the place, who’s the defensive coach, Titus bramble

I hope so. And he does show moments of class. That 1-on-1 save v Hull last week that he didnt know was offside was a great stop. But then both Collins and Wilson are capable of the odd moment of brilliance.

I do hope he turns out decent, but by today's showing his kicking was worse than Wilson, his flapping at crosses was worse than Collins and that first goal..... no words!

Let's hope today was the exception and not the rule.

Fair play.

We need to cut out silly defensive errors and hope we a new CB we’d get better but pride park is not an easy place to go and to score 5 goals is really good going.

Great to see us able to put teams to the sword.

I'm sort of with you on this one.

We were very very shaky at the back - that was obvious.

Some of that comes from the midfield - they are very "nice" and we haven't got (due to the rotation) a definitive sitting/defensive midfielder.

Going forward - yeah, we scored five.... but still can't help thinking that we need to be a bit more dynamic - Would like to hear others thoughts on this.
Still think we need a "focus #9".

Re Rushworth - they were VERY direct at times.
He was put under a lot of pressure with high balls and a lot of bodies in the mix. Did what he needed to do (1st goal - possible question mark!?) Feel Rushworth would deal with today better than Dovin (comments in this from some)

On the first Point, seemed more a CB issue for me today considering all goals came from set pieces and Thomas had the chance to header one away and the other just had to stick his hand down.

Id have to rewatch but thought Wright did this role decent today, dropped back a bit and helped with build up. Early doors for him in this role for us, so will be keen to see how he develops.

One right sided CB and winger for me are the priority after watching that.
