Been away over the weekend, was surprised when Thorn was sacked but think the club made the right decision in the end after the draw vs Bury. Wasn't given much time this season but we needed to not be cast adrift

From all the people actually reported to be interested I would choose Wise

It's Dennis Wise all the way for me, but if it is and he's successful I hope he will be here for the long haul and not just use the club as a stepping stone to bigger things.
Remember he left Swindon Town when they were 2nd top for a job at Newcastle Utd as director of football. We desperately need some stability at the club, not just a short term thing again.

Whatever happens, i hope it's not Blackwell or Megson !

No he didn't, he left League 2 Swindon for Championship Leeds. Don't think many can knock him for that. Newcastle came much later.

I don't know anything about Wise as a manager. Could someone give me an idea of the style of football that he would play and how he would set up tactically. It would be appreciated.

Of those touted it has to be Dennis Wise, he has some experience, not that that matters too much, we are after all a third division team. David Moyes started at Preston, Tony Pulis at a number of "little" clubs Bournemouth, Bristol City, Newport County, Gillingham, , Nigel Atkins; Tranmere, Wigan Scunthorpe. It isn't the manager it's the backing he gets. There's another thing which might be a chink of light at these dark Sky Blue times, is if Wise gets the nod and he accepts he will know our circumstances financially and i would assume seek some clarification before accepting, maybe, just maybe this is the beginning of the end for SISU here.

I get a sense that the lift the club needs and the momentum going forward could come from appointing Wise.
Others mentioned don't have the same inspiration. It not ALL about how good your record is, though experience is a grand factor and Wise has that in these leagues.

He can also become a hate figure just as quickly and that's a risk.

I'm still sticking to Curbishley but feel he will be overlooked.

I don't think Curbishley would be interested imo

Can he do that overhead kick from the edge of The box again? I can't find it anywhere. Anyone got it?

Regardless with the crap names thrown up so far he is my choice by a mile.

It wouldnt take much for his odds to be cut, a couple of rumours, and a few bets will easily sway the odds either way, as it will be a relatively small market.

Unfortunately, the "next manager" market is one that rarely sees the favourite win (Hope Wise proves to be the exception to this rule)

So 3 relatively high profile managers have applied at this level.

Where are all the people who post on here who have always said no one would want the job?

Personally I have never said no one would want the job. However I did say you know the way SISU work they will go for the cheapest option, expecting at the time that to mean Carsley.

However since then they have signed 9 new players so who knows.

Iam a little concerned at how a strong minded manager (if we get one) will get on with Fisher's spy

why do people want wise so bad ?
He went very downhill after poyet left him. i think sean dyche would be a good appointment and has also applied.

Dyche though has had just one season and got Watford midtable.

The football though once again was not to the fans pleasing.

Not enough experience for me.
