I put on £20, at 14-1 the odds were too good to turn down, especially as it was confirmed he had applied this morning.

I had a £350 win last week, hopefully I am on a roll!

So 3 relatively high profile managers have applied at this level.

Where are all the people who post on here who have always said no one would want the job?

Wise being among the applicants is also on the front page of the BBC website. We'd get more attention with him in...not that that should be a high priority at all. Just an observation.

Correct. Good point.

We need a manager that will stamp his authority on the team and get us playing for one another. The crazy gang mentality Wise shared at Wimbledon is exactly the type of thing we need. We have young creative players that will benefit from Wise's experience. Good choice in my opinion.

The crazy gang that Thorn was a member of at Wimbledon ?

'The Coventry board have received a high volume of applications vying for the first managerial opening of the season'

Who would want the job though, we couldn't get anyone better anyway!!!

Let's get behind him at the game tonight! At the moment the 3 front runners seem to be Blackwell, ince and wise.. I know who I'd want out of those.

None of this 'richard shaws sky blue army' shit please

Obviously was struggling to keep the bread on the table for his family so had to get a higher paid job... What a man!

As long as whoever we appoint is a winning manager who cares what playing style he adopts?

Best football is winning football, I know, also, when you lose, people won't get on your back as quick if you lose playing good football.

But, we don't have the XI nor squad to play hoofball, as AB found out.

If we really want to look at the ex-player route then I would much prefer Liam Daish who has done a cracking job at Gravesend/Ebbsfleet including an FA trophy win and a couple of promotions.

To much of a risk, give a few years, maybe (if he is managing in the FL)

Wise excites me because his no non sense approach and experience is EXACTLY what this club needs. Added to which he has excellent contacts, knows the club, loved by a large section of the fan base and would do a far better job than some one like Blackwell or Ince. It really is a no brainier. SISU would do them selves a huge favour by appointing Wise there really is no other option. Over to you SISU the time has come to make the change that will drive this club forward to a more prosperous and altogether better future. Dennis Wise Sky Blue Army!!

I think Greg Abbott would be just as or even better than appointing Wise, and he'd guaranteed take the job.

Don't get me wrong, if it was out of Wise, Ince and Blackwell, it's a no-brainer, Blackwell! I kid, Wise!

Wise is clearly the fans favourite and i think he is a very capable manager as well as being well known. We need someone who can gee the team up and not be afriad of pissing people off if they are not performing. This appointment will bring another 2K back on the attendance at least also help us attract better players.

Lets hope the 'Dennis Wise Sky Blue Army' chants start tonight to let SISU know who we want!!

Just because he is the fans favourite, doesn't mean he's the right option.

Totally agree never have we had a better time to rebuild this club than now. Appoint Wise and attendance figure will defiantly rise. He is already a fans favourite and would be given time to get it right. The team needs a rocket up it's "arris" dam sharpish. Wise would bring this along with an instant increase in attendances.

It's Dennis Wise all the way for me, but if it is and he's successful I hope he will be here for the long haul and not just use the club as a stepping stone to bigger things.
Remember he left Swindon Town when they were 2nd top for a job at Newcastle Utd as director of football. We desperately need some stability at the club, not just a short term thing again.

Whatever happens, i hope it's not Blackwell or Megson !

Wise is smart and articulate. As a relatively young (and inexperienced) manager I'm sure he's still learning but Coventry need someone progressive, forward thinking and someone to rejuvenate the whole club.

Earlier this month Wise resigned from his position at CPO ( Chelsea).

Hmm...

I mean give him a couple of years to get in FL, not at his club.

I'd love to have Wise here, natural born winner, something we lack so badly. Just look at the influence he had last time he was here, I think he could do it again.

Why would i "keep up" on someone who has nothing to do with Coventry City and who has been out of football for four years?

I'm sure you didn't look on Wiki to see what he was up to , just like i didn't.

He's now the favourite on Sky Bet and Stan James above Shaw and Blackwell now. 5/2 at SJ!
