We will be inundated with people wanting the managers role at our club. We will have to see who applies. They are just three names out of many. Most will have failed at each club they have been with.

His lack of recent experience troubles me. Tisdale is a better shout for me.

What we need is someone who has had success, then failed and then gone on to have success again.

This would then show a learning curve and probably a better understanding of how to put things right when things go wrong.

Tisdale for me too, though as has been said previously on here, many Exeter fans want rid of him. They lie currently in 6th place in Lague 2.

I think the good thing about Wise is that he has plenty of good contacts.

Wise was successful in all of his managerial jobs - with AND without Poyet.

Wise is the only name to be linked so far that has excited me. The rest I've either been hostile too or fairly un-moved by.

He's my choice for sure.

He knows AT. He could bring him in as chief scout

So 3 relatively high profile managers have applied at this level.

Where are all the people who post on here who have always said no one would want the job?

We'd have a decent manager AND Grendel would have something to do. Win win.

Not me, Duff. I said we could attract managers without any problem. The issue will be being able to pay them.

No not you but that was always the reason for not sacking Thorn by many - who would work for SISU etc.

Many forget how many managers out of work there are and also in relative terms how big the club is at this level.

Exactly what I was thinking.

I also find it quite funny that there are some who dismiss managers with a half decent track record as 'not good enough', whilst they were staunchly defending just a few days ago.

This is true. Also, not many managers may have wanted it last season as SISU made it a farce - but being the big boys in L1, and SISU actually allowing signings, makes us fairly attractive.

It was never that no manager would come to our club. It is who would come to our club. A manager with a good record with experience? Just because someone says they are interested it don't mean that they have agreed a wage. How much will we be offering?

Most top players make a poor manager.

Wise being among the applicants is also on the front page of the BBC website. We'd get more attention with him in...not that that should be a high priority at all. Just an observation.

We need a manager that will stamp his authority on the team and get us playing for one another. The crazy gang mentality Wise shared at Wimbledon is exactly the type of thing we need. We have young creative players that will benefit from Wise's experience. Good choice in my opinion.
